Students learn about reuse and repurposing of secondary raw materials

Kalnėnai Progymnasium in Mažeikiai is an educational institution that constantly promotes ideas of sustainable development.

The progymnasium employs inventive and creative teachers who aim to encourage student’s creativity and to think alternatively. Technology teacher Stasys Pauliukas, Gabrielius Budrius (5b grade) and Raigardas Laureckas (5c grade) responded to an invitation by Virgilijus Radvilas, Adviser to the Mayor of Mažeikiai District municipality, to participate in the Circular Based Waste Management project through an activity aimed to teach students about reuse and repurposing of old items and materials.

The teacher and the students made shelves from secondary raw materials for the progymnasium technology room, which is a great opportunity to enrich the progymnasium spaces with sustainable solutions.

The Circular Based Waste Management project is funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Regional Cooperation – www. eeagrants.org.
