After deciding my car was no longer economically viable to repair, decided to search for scrap options. A bit of late night googling resulted in an unexpected call from SCC, offering me more than I had been offered by other sites. I didn't take it too seriously at first, but after talking to the garage, they confirmed it was a good offer and I should take it.
I'm a worrier by nature, so was inevitably nervous about proceeding, but I need not have worried.
My details were passed on to the buyer, who dealt with the whole process quickly and efficiently. Money was in my account same day car was picked up.
It does all feel a bit quick -- but honestly, in hindsight that was probably a good thing. No need to drag it out when it can be done quickly an efficiently.
