Ryan even collected me for the station to pick my new car up.

Having bought a very nice £39K Ford Transit camper van from Paul back in 2022, I, like most people it seems, left a 5 star review for the company. However when I got the van home I noticed that in certain light, the front doors and one of the rear doors were a markably different shade of white to the rest of the van. How I missed it i don't know but I honestly didn't really inspect the van very closely (nor did I bargain on the price). I called Paul about it and he confessed he knew about the rear door (which he had sprayed) but denied knowing about the front doors. Yeah right, 3 doors sprayed the same but wrong shade of white, and Paul had been using the van for his personal transport for I forget how long before I took it. Anyway, all very friendly and polite, Paul said he would spray the mismatched panels at his expense and gave that to me in writing.
Since then, not a chance he will do the work. I first asked him how soon, he said he was busy but would let me know when an opportunity came up- he didn't let me know.
A while later I messaged and asked to book the van in for service and have the spraying done- oh yes, i'll get Dannii to book it in and come back to you- nothing heard.
And since then he will not reply to messages nor return a call. I told him if he didn't answer I would have to revoke the 5 star review and give him a 1 star, no reply so I'm left with no alternative.
I want to sell the van now but no way I could do that to someone else who quite probably would miss the mismatch initially like I did, so I will get it resprayed. Thanks Paul, NOT! Interested to see how you reply to this review......

Well there's my answer folks, no reply. I think the motto of this story is, nice guy to deal with so long as you don't need after sales service that costs Paul anything. And he's not good for his word.

I recently purchased a van from Paul Beard. I'm absolutely loving my van but would also like to share how happy I am with their customer service! Nothing is too much for these wonderful people! They have gone above and beyond to make sure the van is 100% and that I, the customer, is well looked after! An incredible service, from the first email, to picking up the car.

Paul was more than happy to to accommodate my list of queries including sending me a detailed walk around video, to save me having to make the journey during lockdown.

I then had a series of disasters on my journey down, but Paul was very understanding, and even offered to pick me up when I'd had a blowout on the drive down.

When I eventually arrived, 5 hours later than I'd promised, Paul was more than understanding, and he knew I'd want to be back on the road, so he'd got the car and the paperwork all ready for me to go.

Everything was as described with the vehicle, and I have to say that it has been an absolute pleasure to deal with Paul, and I only hope we get to do business again.

AMAZING TEAM from start to finish from Danni who took me for my test drive great with directions so I didn't get lost .Chris who delivered my pickup and explained everything to me and the man himself Paul with Danni who took me though the buying process all questions answered ,nothing was to small even with this over excited customer and got me set up in my dream vehicle. I can not fault them the warranty is best around covers loads .

Sadly my personal experience was not as cheery as most, I also had a similar experience from someone else on here. Purchased a Mercedes E300 Hybrid from them in July 2022. First part of the deal was a breeze and very good service. Problem started when I found issues with the car including an intermittent gearbox issues and rodent damaged wiring. After a very very short test drive with the garage (which the fault didnt occur) I was told there was nothing wrong with it - Yet I had even had passengers commenting on the bad shifts.

As the faults developed within the first 30 days I was legally entitled to a full refund which was when the issues began. I was point blank refused by Paul Beard Cars to return the car.

After getting the finance company involved they then hired an independent inspector to review the car, which unsurprisingly, stated that the car was indeed faulty and should be returned back to the garage for a refund (the garage still fighting it all the way!!).

Only once the finance company forced Paul Beard cars to take the car back did they finally come and collect it (tried to tell me to drop it off to them).

The whole experience left me without a car for almost a month as I wasn't allowed to drive it and caused a great deal of stress. Paul refused to take the car back even though I had a legal right to and I had already paid for my own independent inspection. Why this couldn't have been easily sorted out is beyond me.

I also had concerns about the RAC vehicle check, which seemed to be more of a tick box exercise rather than actually checking the vehicle - making it pointless in my opinion.

Overall in my personal opinion I would not recommend this garage. It seems like its all smiles until there is an issue and the RAC check is not worth the paper it is written on.
