Very well worth paying them a visit and if you can't see what you want lying around, just ask, I think you may be surprised just how reasonable their prices are.

I have been rummaging around in Tavistock Salvage yard for years and have managed to find all sorts of treasure. From fireplaces to vintage toilet cisterns - they have it all! I was recently struggling to find a door to fit my old wood shed and Tom was really helpful; eventually cutting a lovely old ledge and brace door down to size for me. It is now hung and looks for all the world as if it has always been there! Thankyou Tom.

Tavistock Salvage Centre is a treasure trove. My experience has been with garden furniture, pots and ornaments, some of which have been unique finds. Iโ€™ve also admired Tavistock Salvage reclaimed board flooring, parquet flooring and banisters looking superb in other peopleโ€™s houses. There always seems to be a good selection of fire surrounds and woodburning stoves, and the briquette fuel, made on the premises, is effective and economical. Having a root around at Tavistock Salvage can be full of good surprises, and members of staff are helpful and friendly.

Haven't found what I needed but still potential treasure chest. Definitely salvage tho. Be ready to pick through. Pricing is higher than I would expect if they want to turn over their inventory.

Fantastic help and advice on use of materials, to create an abstract sculpture as part of a GCSE art student's coursework. The team couldn't have done more to help, they were great.

Where does he get his stock? He must be full of it!
Oh yes, 'Tavistock Rubbish' never fails to surprise; all the stuff that you thought you'd got rid of suddenly re-appears with an eye-watering price tag that would make Messrs Steptoe and Son blush.
Wading your way through the yard is like taking a trip to a Mumbai rubbish-dump shanty town, with all manner of useless pieces of junk on sale for exorbitant prices.
Their 'price promise' is truely unique ("the price we charge is the price you pay") and they seem to always have exactly what you're looking for.
As the owner proudly says, "the local community's loss is your gain... 50 quid please!"

Top salvage team with some fresh ideas as well. Really friendly and approachable but tough hagglers. Good exercise all round.

Loads of great salvage to sift through. Easy going but knowledgeable advice. Good prices on timber too.
