I booked a man and van. I keep getting confirmations that I've booked a bag collection. Each time I have to ring to confirm it. It was booked for collection today - nothing - no contact and no collection. They're promising to do it tomorrow. And of course have sent me more texts confirming it's a bag when in fact that's not what I booked at all. Their staff are friendly but clueless about their systems and why they don't work. VERY POOR service.

Living in a flat it can often be a bit of a trial getting rid of old furniture. Thankfully the team at Hippo and their man and a van service proved to be fantastic and removed six pieces of furniture including two heavy wardrobes with no problem. The chaps who arrived were brilliant - polite, helpful and efficient - a credit to the Hippo team. All my contacts with the office team were also great and helpful. I can totally recommend this service and will definitely use again.

I'd give more than five stars if I could. Really friendly guys who came to pick up my unwanted furniture. They then even helped someone else to carry a sofa down the stairs in my building! (it was order 14427, collected on 15 November)

I was very disappointed with Hippo. The bag came in the post and was placed at the end of my drive for easy access as requested. On the collection day i received a call from Hippo saying the driver could not fit up the road. I explained the road is big enough for the large skip lorry and large bin lorry which are both huge vehicles. They said they were not collecting and refunded me less 50 quid. So i was left with a metric tonne of earth on the drive and 50 quid for the cost of a yellow bag. I ordered a 4 yard skip which was cheaper than hippo which arrived on the back of a huge skip lorry no problem. The problem with Hippo is you dont know if they will collect. With a skip you do.

Quick and efficient once the bag was filled (hipposkip). Driver friendly and happy to help. Took photos of bag before lifting it away and of drive after extraction. From booking online to uplift was 48hrs. I would have no problems using them again. Good service if you don't want to hire a skip although price is similar for the big bag.

We have used their services now over 5 times. The drivers are very lovely and helpful. Advised us on future pickups etc. It can be a bit expensive, but it's so much easier to fill the bags in your own time and have them pick it up. Will be using again and recommended it to family and friends

I had a positive experience using the Hippo bag and collection service. Cheaper than a skip, next day delivery with a free gift (garden hose gun) as a bonus! So convenient to just store the bag until I was ready to use for a full bathroom refurbishment. Collection service was also hassle free and so quick to arrange! Would definitely recommend to others and use the service again myself!

Details: Looking around, I chose Hippo because they are flexible and have a good recycling/waste management ethos, as it reads, and that was a big factor for me. The bag arrived exceptionally quickly. I had underestimated the size and phoned up and was upgraded to a skip. I was worried about how difficult this would be but the call handler was so very helpful and efficient, it wasn't too much trouble at all. Within 2 days I had my skip. I arranged collection and by 830 that morning it was loaded and gone. I phoned a couple of times, once to check the over head cables and position of my bag, each time I spoke to then they were more than happy to help and knew what they were talking about.
