Really impressed by this scrapyard, great prices for what we bought and friendly yard staff. While the public can't simply walk into the scrapyard itself, one person in your group can go in supervised (with hi-vis), which worked fine for us. My partner was able to look all along the Fiat lineup for parts, and pick and choose. Specific parts we wanted were laid out ready for us. They take both card and cash.

One of your drivers has been purposely blocking the flow of traffic on road M 6 leading to an incident, contravening rule 134 of Highway Code. It is also stated that HGV’s are not allowed to use lane 3 let alone block it , unless instructed to do so. Perhaps you can educate your drivers ? Not a good representation of your business at all. I spent 12 hours stranded in carlisle yesterday with my 2 small children after my car broke down, my car was recovered from the motorway & towed to ALS auto's a company locally based, after numerous hours of communicating with the rac and waiting around the guy from this salvage yard actually went above and beyond any customer expectations and left the comfort of his home on a Sunday evening to come and open his salvage yard and allow one of the mechanics from ALS autos to obtain a last minute diesel pipe for my vehicle and all within 20minutes of this man recieving a call. Exceptional service and greatly appreciated

This yard was recommended by a friend, and I have no idea why.

Utterly incompetent, phoned to verify if I could have specific part for an older BMW. Told they have several currently in the yard. Ask for the part(s) and agree to collect it later on.

Arrive at the business, and told I never called even after stating the time, vehicle and showing phone record with their number! Left with no parts and asked for them to be gathered for the next day. They even came up with the excuse they close soon when it’s half an hour till they close.

Friends arrived to collect parts today and told they don’t even have that model of BMW!

Unhelpful, incompetent bunch of cowboys. Over an hour of driving back and forth to “the best in Cumbria” and the cost of getting there to be told I never called and they don’t even have the cars when they said we could get the parts after 3 calls verifying.

If this is the best Cumbria has to offer, god help us all.

Avoid this place at all costs.

This used to be a pretty awesome scrap yard and a great source of spares, however it is very disappointing to learn that the public are no longer allowed access to the yard! It was only a matter of time in this pathetic H&S world we live in nowadays.

No longer can you go and peruse what's in the yard, choose your specific item from whichever specific car, or simply grab whatever bits and pieces take your fancy.

I was a loyal customer for almost 20 years, visiting frequently and spending anything between £10-100 on each visit on bits and pieces that probably get cubed with the car shells nowadays. What a waste. So much for the environment! I wonder how many people were similar to me, buying bits and pieces, and if there has been any drop in revenue. Possibly not - I'm sure they know their business. I also understand public liability insurance was expensive, but surely they made way more than that on the "bits and pieces" that people like me picked. Pieces that they're not going to want to go and fetch themselves, understandably. Not everyone wants "an alternator for a Focus mate".

I'll not ever be back, unless access is once again made possible. I'll source my spares (either new or used) online. Such a shame. It was a brilliant place to while away the time on a quiet afternoon, and the prices always seemed reasonable, even if the friendliness of staff was often variable!
