Each time I visit this plant I’m amazed at the pleasant and helpful staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they are always cheerful and polite. Thank you to all of them!

I've been several times and had no problem getting in. It is staffed by very helpful and friendly people. The late opening hours are very useful. As well as the usual cardboard, bottle banks, domestic waste bins there are also bins for the recycling of hard plastics and used engine oil. They also take in old gas bottles, car tyres, and electrical items.
There maybe a charge for some garden waste and building materials, rubble and bricks etc.
NOTE: Opening times do differ depending on the time of year.
Summer opening times
01 April to 30 September
8am - 7pm 7 days a week

Winter opening times
01 October to 31 March
8am - 5pm 7 days a week

From their website: "This recycling centre operate an access policy and permit scheme which restricts use of the sites by certain large vehicles and trailers.
If you are wishing to deposit inert waste at any of our recycling centres you need to obtain a permit in advance of your visit. If you do not wish to obtain an Inert Waste permit you have the option of using the 'option to pay' service at the recycling centres."

On arrival I was greeted with a polite "Good Morning". I told the member of staff I was new to town and asked for some advice about using the site. He couldn't have been more helpful, suggested best place for me to park then pointed me in right direction for everything I had to recycle. Thank you for all your assistance, very much appreciated.

Visited today. Informed staff l had a very heavy small bed frame with mattress l could get off. They informed me they were not allowed to help. They watched as l struggled to get it up the metal stairs and then getting it into the container. A man pulled up with a small fridge freezer he got it out of his car and was told by member of staff to leave it there and they would move it. At almost 70yrs of age l would have liked a little help. Very disappointed with double standards.

Took me an hour to off-load a hearth rug. System not fit for purpose. The operatives are not allowed to help public. I'm 74 and have only one arm so very difficult. P.S the operatives are very friendly and are trying their best.

Well set up and helpful staff but as this was my first time there I wasnt aware of the queue system which wasnt visible on entry maybe better signage would assist anyone in the same position as me.

Helpful staff and thankfully no permit scheme. Allowing people to dispose of rubbish easily means it doesn't get dumped at the side of the road.

The staff are helpful and cheerful.
You can take a wide range of household recycling:
paper, garden waste, batteries, clothing, small electricals, wood as well as non recyclible waste.
Charges are made for businesses but are not excessive.
