This place is a right tip!
Joking aside, it's well presented, easy to access, staff are helpful, what more could you want from a place to dispose of rubbish?
Only 2 criticisms, signage from the main road is a bit poor and the whole site is covered in a layer of wet mud.

What an amazing and helpful bunch of guys working at Wingmore Recycling Centre today! When throwing an item into a skip this morning I inadvertently and stupidly also threw my car keys in with the item!! Fear not, the guy’s speedily shut off the skip to avoid others throwing additional items in and calmly and professionally retrieved my keys for me. No drama, no hassle just efficient and well executed. Can’t thank you enough guys.

I used the recycling centre to dispose of some concrete rubble. I was just trying to drag the heavy load out of my car when an older man started shouting at me as my car was facing the wrong way.
The passenger side was the only way I could manage to get the dustbin full of rubble out of the car.
I was then surrounded by 3 men telling me the same thing.
I couldn’t physically manage to do this.
The young lads were helpful, but the older men were a disgrace really. Still upset now

Went Monday for the first time in ages - booked slot and all ran like clockwork - waved ‘blue badge’ as advised on the website - all staff incredibly helpful and kind - cheerful and accommodating- it’s obviously a strenuous physical job so well done Wingmoor! Thank you!

Simply awful experience since a booking system has been introduced

Absolutely no need for such a system to exist - now it's an additional job for someone to check you've booked before letting you enter - Council waste & inefficiency at its finest

Staff delight in turning people away who have arrived too early or too late, even when the place is very quiet

Updated with a review 23/09/2024 - Yes it has been raining and you decided to close the site, no issues with that but your communications are abysmal. My slot was 1430-1500, at 1410 I checked the website and it was showing the Hempstead faciltiy as being closed (but not Wingmoor Farm), as it had been for most of the day. Due to road two road closures it took me 45 minutes to arrive at Wingmoor Farm, making every effort to arrive within my allocated time slot, only to find the gates locked. There were others turning around with many others arriving as I left. I again checked the website at 1525 and there was no indication that Wingmoor Farm was closed. The timestamp shows that the website was finally updated at 1545 to show that Wingmoor Farm was closed. How many people made a wasted journey during the time you closed the site and updated the website?

Date of visit 4/4/24 - I fully appreciate that the site has just reopened after being closed for some 3 months and was looking forward to seeing what changes had been made. Access to site is abysmal with extremely large trucks with agressive drivers trying to jump the queue of the general public waiting patiently to access the recycling area, an accident waiting to happen. Access to the soil and building waste bins has been made harder to lift heavy loads from their car parked in the middle lane across the wide pedestrian lane to the bins. Previously you could park closer to the bins. The flow through the site is appauling, queueing to get onto site and with the majority of people using the bins at the top of the site, parking and people reversing into slots causes more blockages. Very big white vans, which quite frankly are too big for the site, trying to reverse into tiny slots with other cars parked around slows things up even further. At the top of site I witnessed more accidents waiting to happen with people walking around moving cars. I suspect it took me 20 minutes to get onto site, 5 minutes to unload and a further 20 minutes or so to get off of site due to the carnage at the top. While the facilites have been refreshed, the experience of the general public has not improved. Indeed, with the recent changes made to the Cheltenham recycling facilites and my experiences at Wingmoor it has put me off recycling. Come on GCC, surely you can do better than this.

Helpful staff and clean premises. Largely easy to access. Lots of skips were not in use and traffic was a bit chaotic around the non-recyclable waste area (near the exit).

Used for the first time since it closed for improvement. Was hoping for a better experience but apart from some tarmac at the lower level and better positioning of the bins nothing has changed. It still has the bottle neck on the high level and the queue was terrible. No organisation and less space. Needs to be thought through again.
