I want to praise the staff this morning at the Calverton Recycling Centre. They were so helpful in telling me where to put old lawn mower oil, various different part-used paint tins and ancient lighting sets. One of the staff, seeing I am getting on somewhat in age (!) even carried a heavy, inefficient old microwave oven all the way from the car for me. Skips for wood vs chipboard are all clearly labeled and accessible. Even mid-morning it was quiet and parking easy. I so hope the Council retain this friendly and invaluable site in their current review.

Had the most amazing experience at Calverton tip on Wednesday. Got free paint for the charity I work for, the lady was so helpful and kind, I was having a really difficult day but left there with a big smile on my face… would definitely recommend to other charities and local people who are struggling to decorate their homes

I honestly can’t thank the staff here enough! My dad accidentally threw away a very expensive bed spread of mine earlier that day.
When I went to have a look that particular skip was full to the brim ?
All the staff helped by jumping in and having a look but no luck. They then got their machine out and pulled it all back until they found it.

Went to the recycling centre today, approached 3 guys eating sandwiches and said "I'm so sorry to interrupt but do you know the best place for me to put this?" One of the guys went off at me saying that there's 80,000 signs why can't I read them. I said I'm sorry but that's actually so rude I was just asking a question. They went off at me and said they haven't had a lunch break and I'm so rude for interrupting them, there's nothing ruder than interrupting people who are on their lunch. Absolute joke of a place. Management should ensure that these guys are getting lunch breaks so that they don't go off at customer's kindly asking for help. You have no idea what people may be going through and it was so awful having 3 men going off at me when I was being really kind. Disgusting behaviour.

Aggressive from the start.

New to Nottingham so did not know you had to sign up to one recycling centre first. When confronted about this I asked for help to sign up and explained the confusion staff got progressively more aggressive and belittled me for not knowing.

They only helped (while making childish comments about my breath smelling and continuing to belittle me) after I fed their egos by repeatedly stating I was confused and just wanted to understand what I had to do to dispose of my waste.

Don't bother coming here unless you are local, felt targeted because I was not original from Nottingham.
