Never thought I’d find myself reviewing recycling centres, but this is worth a mention. So much better than the old one. Easy to get in and out; well organised and laid out; super friendly staff; and a shop for stuff to drop off or get a bargain. Been a few times over Christmas - no longer save up all the recycling for a mega drop, now it’s this easy.

Spacious, no queues, clean, friendly team. No stairs to climb to put into the skips and so much easier and quicker. Check the council website before going there (Welhat) to ensure the specific type of waste skip you need is available. Bargains galore at the reuse shop too. My only complaint is the speed bump strips are vicious

Very efficient and friendly staff. It's a shame we can't use it any more because the really vicious and unnecessary speed bumps have damaged my husband's car (a standard Astra) to the tune of £480. Many people have commented on these bumps already. Something needs to be done.

Just been this recycling centre and my experience was one of total shock. The staff , especially on small tubby woman , were extremely rude and aggressive.
I was approached by this ‘karen’ while trying to get rid of old used engine oil. I admit it has built up due to covid and work.
However I decided to do the right thing and put it into the waste oil recycling tank. Where ‘Karen’ stopped me being environmentally correct, now I have to find an alternative waste disposal site.
It is small wonder that people fly tip as getting these jobsworths to do the right thing is impossible.
They told me to leave as they were hoing to call the Police on me. Great customer service…NOT!
Stevenage is a far better run site but due to the distance is not environmentally sound to visit, but I guess thats where I will he going.
The one star is because I cannot give zero.

What a lovely experience going to WGC refuse and recycling is. The staff are always helpful and offer to lend a hand as do the general public too. My faith in humanity has been restored.

It’s well presented, easy parking, everything is well marked - bins, spaces, signage - staff are really friendly & helpful - just beware of the speed bumps on the way in, they really do test your suspension.

Was fairly quiet. Most sections were open, so was able to dispose of everything. Only downside is that some things go in different containers, which are at opposite ends of the centre, resulting in lots of carrying to and fro. But then some people just ignored workers and dumped everything in one container.
They have a small shop where anything too good to dump can be taken, and they sell it for a small sum of money and donate it to local causes.
