Hassle free process just get an appointment pre hand and show up on the day. We were even late to our appointment because our sofa wasn’t fitting but the staff were kind enough to let us in. After the barrier go up the ramp and dispose off your stuff in the right place it’s simple and straight forward and signposted everywhere

If you are a bit skeptical don’t be! It’s all very straight forward, just scan your code to gain entry, then queue in line prior to the ramp….this is where it can generate a queue before the access barrier as cars are not allow to sit on the ramp for obvious reasons - there is not much space once you have passed the barrier as there is a mini roundabout/junction which needs to be kept clear - this causes a domino effect on the cars trying to gain access. We were lucky to drive past the barrier and waited for 5 mins at the bottom before getting a space. When we came out there was a queue to main road/entry, something to think about if time restricted.

As for the facility itself, it’s well kept and staff was pleasant and helpful. I honestly thought it was going to be a lot of hassle and have been putting it off for a while, but based on that experience I would highly recommend if you are amassing rubbish or in need of a declutter.

Tip - Polystyrene packaging, old paint cans/ empty or partial goes into general waste, most rubbish you will find goes in the general waste, but tip points are clearly labelled for specific materials and staff will point you in the right direction.

I have used the services of the Swindon Household Waste Recycling Centre for the second time, and I am completely satisfied. The booking process on the Swindon Borough Council website is very quick and straightforward. There are always available slots in the near future. After making the appointment, I received a confirmation email, and before my visit, I got a reminder email with a QR code and the option to cancel if needed. Everything works smoothly, with no queues or stress. I arrived at the appointed time, disposed of my waste, and left. Well done! Great service! ?

Today I had an appointment booked at the HWRC. There was no one in attendance at the scanning point and it took me over 5 mins to scan my code on my phone. Where is the call button mentioned on the point? The order driver hooting his horn at me made the whole experience 100 times worse. I hope he was kept waiting for an hour.

Smooth check in with greetings from friendly and polite staff. Just follow signs to dump the waste. We dumped cardboards today and luckily we were able to park close to cardboard dumpster. Otherwise need to move from one end to other end.

Even though the recycling center is fine, the booking system is getting ridiculous. The next 2 weeks are fully booked every single day however I managed to grab a cancelled slot today. Upon arriving today there were only 2 other cars the entire time at 12:30pm. There is space for at least 12 cars.. How can this be fully booked! There are clearly people having to book well in advance and then either forgetting or changing their minds and not cancelling. This is only going to get worse. Please change the booking system or scrap all together as it is not working optimally!!

One of the more well organised recycling centres around. The time slot system, although sometimes frustrating, does work well and means you won’t be stuck in ridiculously long queues. The place is relatively clean and tidy. Staff are mostly helpful.
