This tip has a reputation locally for being run by jobsworths. We had a very small bag (far less than the specified 100 litres) of rubble to dispose of, yet was told repeatedly that it had to be "booked in". With unhelpful and uncooperative staff like that, it is no surprise to hear that flytipping is on the rise in north Dorset, or that residents are using tips run by neighbouring counties instead.

Turned up in my van which I have a permit for. One of the jobsworths came over to inspect and told me it was commercial waste when it wasn't. It was waste from my house. I got told to leave.
Hard work to get rid of waste here. Avoid if you can. My black bin took the lot eventually.

Most of the staff in this place are excellent. But there is one jobsworth there, one of the younger guys who decided for some reason to rip open my bag of rubbish which I was putting into general waste, and then refused to allow me use the tip because I had to sort it out, despite not clarifying what he considered to be recyclable so that I could sort it there. I then had to take a ripped bin bag back home in the car with its contents hanging out only to put in the waste bin anyway. Besides him though the rest of the staff are helpful, especially one of the older workers who is a gent.

The team at this centre were and are excellent. I was clearing my Mum’s house after she moved into a care home. The team were helpful and supportive as disposing of Mum’s lifelong household possessions and items was tough. Very decent people. Thank you. Special mention to Richard..

Have always had a good experience and thought that this qualifies for a review equally as a single rage-fueled bad experience, which seem to become more common. Staff have always been helpful and friendly, even when I arrived with a lot of stuff and equally many questions.

A very rude rotund and bearded member of staff who appeared to revel in shouting repeatedly at myself and a colleague that “your not on the system, and I will shout at you how I like” . Accusations of not having a permit to enter the tip in a van. Of course we did have a permit, which was shown to him on a our phone, but he still refused entry, and again we were met with “ your still not on the system”. Once he realised he was in the wrong he obviously had to admit he was wrong and let us dump our rubbish, which appeared to be a bitter pill for him to swallow! And obviously he was not man enough to apologise for his poor attitude and ignorance!

1 star is generous to be honest.

When the only vehicle you have is a van and you are told you cannot get rid of your .house hold rubbish with out a permit and only during the week.

When you work full time and your only free time is at a weekend this is not practical or fare. And Especially when your rubbish has not been collected by the bin for 2 weeks, due to building work going on at the end of the road and cannot get access.

No wonder why there is so much fly tipping going on in the area. Not that this is something i would ever consider.
