I needed a small bit of lead flashing for a water feature and not only did they have what I needed, they cut it to size, the service was outstanding and I will definitely be using them again to not only scrap metal but buy what I need as well.

I came here this week with my son in law. I was very impressed with the level of skill and care by the crane driver. We previously have been going to another local yard but our trailer has been damaged many times. A few people told us to go to universal as the crane driver is top class. They were not wrong. Great prices to match

Staff are fantastically helpful, Lorry driver very helpful, would definitely recommend to friends. I am a single Mum and asked for some surplus metal to be removed from my property. The boys from the yard were so helpful and went far beyond the call of duty to help me. I found them to be respectful, kind, empathetic and highly professional. Couldn’t recommend Universal highly enough! Impeccable service.

Really great service. Would recommend to anyone. They even gave us a box of chocolates as it’s Christmas, this company went above and beyond to help us. Workers were so so friendly - made my day!

I refer to both of the idiots 1) to the scrap man who tests the metal to see what it is.
2) The scrap man who sits at his desk then calculates the cost.

Customer service- non existent.

1)The first man looked completely distrustful, and murmured what each metal was whilst starring at you in an unfriendly manner. All the time I was there I was made to feel unwelcome.

2) Now this idiot was the worse. He spoke into his accounts book rather than to my face- ' I.D' ? (which I produced), 'Name ?' (which I said) Do you want a bank draft or cheque ?' ( I couldn't hear because of all the crashing of scrap metal behind me). So I said sorry I cant hear you, can you say again ? DO YOU WANT A BANK DRAFT OR CHEQUE ? He shouted angrily. I said cheque which he gave with a glare and walked off in disgust.

What I took to them was big lumps, rods and bits and pieces of Brass along with an assortment of other metal. What I got was £52.62 for the lot - not very much and I just couldn't help thinking I had been ripped off.
