I had a disappointing first experience at the Harrow Recycling Center. The staff seemed more interested in enforcing rules than in offering practical solutions, and they were surprisingly unfriendly. When I mentioned I didn’t have a personal car, their suggestion was to bring my items in a taxi – not exactly the most practical idea. I then asked if I could leave my work vehicle outside and carry the bags on foot, but was warned I’d receive a fine if I tried. With at least four staff on-site, all equally aggressive, it felt like they were competing to show who’s in charge. It would be great if they could focus more on helping residents with realistic solutions... but maybe I’m expecting too much.

The process is great. There is hardly any queue usually most bays are free. I went there today and it was empty. Unfortunately I got the timing wrong and the person would not let me in. If the place was busy then i would understand.

We are paying for jobs worth type of people. Automate the process and sack the guy. I have to now empty the whole car.

Excellent self service facility. As many other reviewers mentioned, it can have bit of a queue but it's really great given it is open year round. It accepts most kind of waste at no cost. Easy to get around and a couple of staff available if you need help.

I have given it 3 stars based on one bad experience. I had booked as usual as I had three large cardboard boxes I needed to take recycle. When I arrived at the centre with my daughter, the guard looked at me and said nope you booked on the wrong day which was a genuine mistake from me as the calender section in their website does not sometimes corresponds to the actual booking date, which I explained to the guy and said look really sooty genuine mistake but as I can see there is literally 1 car at the top and I will be less than 5 min as I only have 3 cardboards, point blank refused me, said go back home and come back with a smirk. So I read the T&C on their website which stated that you can come by foot and no appointment is needed, so I drove out and parked the car up and picked up the 3 card board boxes to drop off, only to be refused entry and this time the manager chimed in to say if I did try recycle the card board (in the correct section) at the recycle centre that they will do me for fly tipping. What a joke, for me it came across as racial as another guy rode in a a bicycle without an appointment or checking him. With attitudes like this no wonder Harrow has a fly tipping problem.

Also like to add you don't need 30min slots to recycle your items on average it will take 15min, so all this benefits is the staff based at site as they are chilled out, all the times I have been going while the appointment system has been in place I have never seen it full.

Hopefully, they can sort their attitude out and give people a break that also have very busy lives.

Harrow Recycling Centre is such a simple and easy way to dump and recycle your unwanted items. You simply book online and then turn up to proceed. The employees that work at this recycling centre are very friendly and I have never had a bad experience when I have been there.
