No-one really likes having to use a recovery service, especially when you weren’t at fault for the accident.
However Egertons we’re on the scene pretty quickly and had a no nonsense approach to loading up my smashed car. It was soon dragged backwards unceremoniously up the ramp and onto the truck before disappearing into the morning sunlight.
It would have been nice for a little care to be shown, or some explanation of what was going to happen, but I guess they’ve got places to be.
I did have to sweep the remaining bits of car out of the road myself too as their driver didn’t seem too fussed about the aftermath.
Trying to ring the Abingdon branch is impossible too, they don’t exist on the phone menu and most of the other options just ring out.
Eventually I found someone in Newbury that gave me a number that didn’t work/never got answered.
On the plus side when i randomly turned up without an appointment to get the stuff out of my car the staff were awesome. The lady on the desk seemed genuinely sad that my car had ceased to be. I was guided to its penultimate resting place where the second member of staff politely turned her back as I recovered my things from my pride and joy.
In all likelihood you want have a choice if you’re using these guys as they are the Police’s choice of recovery agent and they are there to do a job. But once you’re at the depot they seem to understand the emotion you might be going through.

I was made to feel like the criminal! I had my brand new moped stolen from my house and I didn’t think i would see it again but a miracle happened and the police found it! It was recovered to this place, when I spoke to the receptionist she told me to just bring my V5 and ID when I got all the way there (I’m in Reading) she asked me if I have a number plate? When I said no she said “well you can’t have it then, oh sorry I should have told you” uhhh yeah you should have told me!! I felt like I had to jump through hoops to get MY bike back, MY belongings! Oh and I needed to sort my insurance out (again I wasn’t told) only to find there’s no service that far out and no Wi-Fi if I didn’t spend a hour on the phone I wouldn’t of got my bike back! First of all in future give the customer all the information before they travel and have some compassion! I wasn’t the criminal

Been trying to call since 9:15am since they open at 9am, leaving a review on behalf of my cousin Because he doesn’t have a Google account, poor customer service and for what I heard, they just focus on taking every penny from the customers, how is the customer supposed to get their belongings back if they don’t answer the phone for the past almost 4h we been trying

Wasn’t informed car would be stripped of personal belongings when collected roadside after police arranged for them to come after an accident. Personal belongings haven’t been kept with the car when the car went to the garage to be repaired. They have refused to return belongings so far. No respect given for the horror of knowing the car has been emptied, or the stress caused not only by insecure building materials hitting my car in the first place but now having to sort out collection of my belongings.
Dreadful experience.

Costed more to get my motorbike back than the thief actually caused in damage. Do not recommend

My experience with this company has been so traumatic and stressful. My car was scrapped which was fine, but all my belongings inside, all my tools (well over £1500) , wallet phone , clothing etc. Had been misplaced apparently . They claimed that for over a month and now they say that they haven’t ever had any belongings from the car. (Suspicious) I think they could go sell all unclaimed belongings on a car boot every three months once people don’t come collect them. Very hard to get through to them by phone . I think they are trying to make me wait over 3 months so i won’t have a leg to stand on. I have had to make a crime reference to Thames valley police. AVOID THIS COMPANY.

Just want to give a great review for Mark from Egertons - bit of a complicated job, taking an SUV with a caravan and did it with no issues at all. A friendly and stress-free service! Would’ve been nice if he had been allowed to take us the whole way as it was only another 45 mins, but our separate breakdown cover company decided against it. Thank you Mark
