Really rude and unhelpful. I am sorry I didn’t understand that there was a rule against no vans on Sundays. I was a little shocked by the short temper from Tony the site manager. I only had a couple of bin bags to chuck but they treated me like I had set the place on fire. I don’t like people swearing like that for no reason.
Also, a little weird that they were happy to allow their mates in with vans. So yeah, pretty disappointed.

Utterly appalling staff. Three of them just stood outside their office giggling like 5 year olds while people struggle to get items out of their vehicles. Obviously you can't say anything because this is Lewes. Burgess Hill recycling is a completely different story.

10/4/24 my sister and I visited to drop off 4 bags of shrub cuttings. We are both pensioners and my sister managed to get all bags into the car but one was a bit to heavy to hoist up the steps. I have had spinal fractures so was not much help. The two male workers there were both rude and unhelpful when I asked for help with one bag . They said we should have come with someone who could carry the bags! Shocking and very upsetting for us both The website states “ If you have mobility problems and require assistance, please ask a member of site staff when you arrive. They will take your items and transfer them to the correct recycling containers for you if required.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to a lovely Man called Ray , he was such a help to me & my partner in helping us with emptying our vehicle as my Dad had recently passed and we are not local to the area. A true gent as was he co workers . Thank you all very much ?

After giving up to get in during the weekend due to the long queue I found it nice and easy today. Understand the large spacing for the 7 parking bays and the safe zones at the bins. Well done Lewes Veolia for sorting it all out and feeling safe when there.
