Skip Hire
Ordered and paid for a 12yd skip. My 74yr old father in law took delivery as I was at work. When i arrived it appeared much smaller than expected (ie was expecting circa 6ft tall and 13ft long). The skip only measure 4ft 3 inches high and barely over 11ft long x 5ft 9 inches wide. I'm not a specialist but volume wise it can't possibly be a 12yd skip. I did the math to confirm.
We had to break down some of the larger items as they wouldn't fit and several had to be taken via multiple car trips to the local recyling centre.
Rang the Riddel office and was asked to prove it wasn't a 12yd with a photo to their email address, I did this within 20mins of being asked (it shows me leaning on the skip lip for scale) and after i rang to confirm receipt was told the admin team would need to tie in with the boss and get back to me.
in 3 days I've not had any emails or even a call to tell me its getting sorted.
When i ring them to chase i'm told the boss is busy.
I'm putting it down to an admin/paperwork error as i'm sure it wasn't on purpose. I've asked for a refund of the difference (ie paid for 12yd, delivered an 8yd refund is £xxx). Seems straightforward and fair and i'll just have to put the trips to the skip and hassle down as a lesson learnt. We've all got bigger things to worry about at the moment.
Unfortunately based on my experience to date i wouldn't rush to recommend

Was meant to have a car collected this morning. Never showed up, rang about 4 times for them to say a driver is on there way. Rang up just now for them to say the driver had to go home. Poor communication, didn’t bother to let us know. Waited in all day for them to show up. Wouldn’t recommend, you’re better off finding some reliable and trustworthy.

If I could put 0 I would ... I WILL NEVER SUGGEST ANYONE USES THIS COMPANY. Taking time off to accommodate a delivery that THEY PROMISED. Having taken the money, the did NOT DELIVER. There was no telephone call to say that they would not deliver. When I called there was no real apology, just a patronising 'we will deliver tomorrow'. When I pointed out my loss of earnings to accommodate them there was no apology and when I pointed this out to them they then raised their voice at me and became threatening in manner. I hung up before they could worsen the matter and let's see if they now refund.... the least a business should do if they are organised and come from a place of integrity is to contact the customer to advise of an issue. Not even a decent apology from them. Disgusting. Will never use again and will ensure that all that ask for a recommendation that I recommend they do not use this company ever. Very badly run business.

Order a skip on a Wednesday and was told it would be delivered on Monday rang on the Monday afternoon to be told there had been an issue with the lorry and I would be the first in the morning so arrange for workers to come in to clear out on the Tuesday but the skip was a no show by lunch time so I rang again to be told I was next in line but still no delivery by 3.30 so rang again and got no answer so I had now had two lad on £10 an hour each there all day drinks tea and eating my biscuits ( that I bought for then anyway Lol) for 7 hour costing me £140 it finally turned up 12 midday on the Wednesday and full buy 5pm the same day I was busy Thursday so wouldn't be in for collection so left it till Friday morning to ring for pick up only for it to go through to the bosses mobile because no-one was in the office and was told to ring back between 12-1pm when someone would be able to help so I did, at which point I got the boss again so was told he would send someone Saturday OK..... Saturday comes and goes with no pick up and no-one answering the phone...8.30am Tuesday rolls round (due to a bank holiday Monday) I ring and explain the Fridays convos with bossman and was told he hadn't even written a pickup ticket for it and told ok we will put it on an urgent pick up that afternoon or wednesday morning befor 11am due to me have building supplies delivered Wednesday lunch between 1-2pm rang at 9am to confirm pickup and was told your next in line 1.45pm building supplies turn up and I have to turn them away due to no space because the f#@£&*g skips still here I ring up the office to be told "your still next in line the driver can only go so fast he'll be there when he gets there" 3pm driver turns up totally un aware of what gone on between me and the office and tell me oh yeah we are swamped we can't get the Skipp's back quick enough to fill the order at which point I broke down laughing and explained everything to him and he just shuck his head. delivery drivers 100% but the last office worker and the boss -1000% will never use again will never recommend them again I wish I waited the extra 2 day for Sid Dennis to get me 1 well worth the extra £35 for the large skip just for the piece of mind factor

The lorry leaked hydraulic fluid all over my driveway that is block paved and only 2 years old. I have been phoning and emailing for weeks now. They have admitted doing damage. Said they were to busy to clean it. And now say read our terms and conditions we basically won't repair any damage we cause to your property.

I would not recommend this company at all to my family and friends, I rang and ask for a skip to be delivered and the mad said yes fine it be there and gave me a morning delivery time so I hired two people to come help me as I am disabled. come 1 oclock no skip I rang said it was in ingoldmells and be there at 4 o'clock, ingoldmells is 20 minutes from me by car, I was very cross to say the least. when I rang again they said can not guarantee a time, this was not what I was told when ordering skip. I will not use this company again. they turned up at 4.30pm. to late to do anything by then.

I hired a skip from Company Riddel & Sons to get rid of the contents of the house I am renovating: old kitchen cabinets, some softwood, old curtains and concrete blocks coming from my internal walls.
Right after the skip was collected I received a phone call from the owner yelling at me and insinuating in extremely rude meaner that I put in asbestos inside the skip and demanding additional payment for the disposal of such.
Afterwards, we received emails from him trying to extort a payment for over 700kg of asbestos sheeting. The house we bought was built in 1996 thus does not contain any asbestos and we are not even renovating the roof on it. We found out on this Company's website that they are dealing with waste management of asbestos. Therefore we strongly suspect they might try to make us pay for something we did not dispose of and that we might not be his first victim. I do not recommend to use their services to anyone of course.
Please, spare yourself the extreme stress and do not deal with this Company.
If I could I would give them O stars.

Have used AR skips for the last 6 yrs and always efficient service. Topped off today with a request at 7.30am to take it urgently due to house move and gone within 10 mins! Brilliant thankyou
