Literally the worst practice in Scotland.

Today is one month since I've been trying to get an appointment with suspected infection.

One month ago I was left home by a receptionist with words: "I see half of your sample came back normal. Take paracetamol if you're in pain". After I asked what about another half, I was told that she's not a doctor but I seem fine. She refused to send me the results and called a nurse which sent me home with words: "it happens because you're a woman". 🎉

After that I had to call NHS24 because couldn't sleep for 2 days (was too sick), but they could do nothing at night except asking me to get an urgent appointment with my GP - despite me telling them that the waitlist is 1 month. And here I am one month later, still unable to get out of bed. Still unable to book.

They always ask you to call at 8 to book an appointment. But they never answer (I've tried this whole time). When they do answer they say you're fine OR that it's all booked for today (even though it's just 8:20) and you need to try again tomorrow. Note that they never care if you're in pain or crying.

In 6 years that I live in Scotland, I haven't seen that much ignorance, rudeness, sexism, ageism and medical gaslighting as in the Bank Street Group. I don't have money for a private one - I bought the expensive NHS insurance. But I get treated like I'm not a human, can't be sick because of my young age (anyone under 60 is young), or because I'm a woman.

While NHS24 said that they recognise something is wrong, my GP receptionist, not even a medical professional, says I'm fine and sends home. How does this system work, where I cannot even get to speak to a medical staff?

UPDATE: I was seen in another clinic and they did confirm infection with complications. Well done, Bank St!

Excellent, efficient service. I am caring for my elderly mum at home through her illness and the support and assistance has been excellent from the doctors and reception staff of Bank Street Medical Practice. Polite and helpful when you call and effective communication

Best GP I've ever seen. I saw Dr Angus Boyd just there. I had a really sore knew injury a week and a half ago. He took just enough time to run through the three main types of knee injury and then after analysing my knees was able to leave me fully aware that his diagnosis is right. After prolonged knee troubles he's put me on the physiotherapy waiting list (which is long but this isn't the doctor's fault). He gave me brilliant advice as to how to proceed and I feel really comfortable leaving the practice today for the first time in a long time. I didn't feel rushed today. He explained then that he has slightly more time as a junior doctor. But for a junior doctor I'm even more pleased with his work.

Why do we have a medical centre/doctor when you can’t get a bloody appointment, maybe you need to die first. All you get is phone back tommorow at 8 so there telling me if you want an appointment. For the next day you have to phone in the morning, (it wasn’t even for on that day) why do they bother having a practice? Suppose one thing the staff are nice

This is a poor excuse for a medical practice. This is for me and my partner. Poor palliative care for a relative, can never get prescriptions or appointments, discrimination regarding another relative, all staff are generally rude and don't seem to understand the concept of duty of care or in fact they are a public service with prime purpose to serve the local community and manage family medical care. Have been told to go private and pay for own health care despite the fact everyone already does through their taxes which is then awarded to this practice in funding for their services which in turn they consistently do not deliver. Not a service for them to be proud of.

Receptionist is so very rude and clearly thinks she's a doctor. Explained I need antibiotics but her attitude was disgusting she really didn't care and told me she would put me in for an advice call but she doesn't know how that would be any good. Turns out I got my antibiotics and she expected me to go till middle next week for them. Maybe a refresher course on what her job actually is and how to have some manners.

Unable to get an appointment. Went there and the nurses got all high and mighty when we told them their phones aren’t working. We were told to call at 8am, we called BUT NOBODY ANSWERS. Worst practice in Scotland.

I've been with this practice since I moved to Cupar in 1972. Obviously personnel have changed over the years - when we came here there were only two partners in the practice and no health centre - but throughout we have had helpful and expert service, for which we are grateful.
