Very disappointed with the attitude of the staff following a comment I highlighted to them.
I will say that the funeral went ahead fine and without difficulty and I am Largely grateful to the Funeral directors for that. The site is also well maintained.
However, I had 2 guests attend with hearing aids. Both later indicated that they were unable to connect their hearing aids to the Hearing Loop which is intended to aid participants to hear the words going through the speaker. One guest actually wore specialist hearing aids that automatically connect to hearing loops when they are in the vicinity of one.
I brought this to the attention of the crematorium staff through their feedback form and they did give me a call, but it’s clear that they did not feel it was a valid comment. They advised that on the day someone had brought it to their attention and they had tested the system without fault. Then suggested that it must have been my guests not knowing how to link into the system...really!?!? 2 guests who have had hearing loss for many years and use hearing loops in many locations and on top of that one that has an automated hearing aid...but apparently that, according to the crematorium anyway, must mean that it’s a user error...I am baffled!!! Just to add, I was advised on the day by someone that this has occurred at previous funerals.
I am really disappointed that a comment (not complaint at the time of filling the form in) which was intended to ensure that future guests of funerals don’t have the same difficulties was just discounted as user error...Please Barham take some responsibility and just accept the odds of it being at your end is far higher and get an engineer to check it properly...that’s all I’m asking
