How recycling centres should be run. Most of all helpful friendly staff take the time to explain where things go with a smile even in the rain, the place is super clean and organised. I even saw some of the staff help some elderly gentleman. What’s more it’s free (or paid for by our council tax) a big contrast to the centres down south which charge for most things.

The staff are the friendliest I’ve met!

Some staff members require customer service training, the attitude I witnessed towards myself and others was borderline aggressive. Everyone I talk too about this place say the same thing? People just need to be pointed in the right direction. Not lambasted for throwing an item in the incorrect skip by mistake! The set up is the worst I’ve seen. The queues spilling out onto Bailey st needs addressing as well while I’m at! Do better Suez?

Outstanding Service and Exceptional Care!

My husband and I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the incredible staff at Shift A. Today, we experienced an extraordinary act of kindness and professionalism that left us truly speechless.

In the midst of dealing with waste recycling, my husband accidentally dropped his precious wedding ring into the narrow gap between the skip and the railing. We were both devastated and didn't know what to do. However, the staff at Shift A demonstrated unmatched dedication and went above and beyond to help us in our time of need.

Without hesitation, they swiftly organized a car, and one of their team members skillfully maneuvered it to lift the skip, enabling them to access the small gap where the ring had fallen. Their determination and quick thinking paid off as they successfully retrieved the ring, saving us from what could have been an irreplaceable loss.

We cannot express the depth of our gratitude for their immediate response and remarkable efforts. The level of care and concern they showed us in this situation was truly exceptional. The staff at Shift A not only showcased their professionalism but also exhibited a genuine sense of compassion that is rare to find.

Useful for what it is, however the staff leave a hell of a lot to be desired here. They have such an attitude problem with many people on site and spend all their time talking to each other. Contrast this to Bredbury where they couldn't be any more helpful and nice. Worst part? It's all the same company. Which proves that local management is the issue. No surprise for ex-tmbc.

Mick & Tony were absolutely wonderful. I lost my keys at the dump and they went above and beyond to help me find it even though they were really busy with other work. Staff like that really need to be appreciated & rewarded for there great work and customer service. The best recycling centre I've been too.

I have had many positive experiences using this Waste Recycling service, but I am concerned about the behaviour of one particular staff member today. I feel that I am being singled out due to my race, and this makes me uncomfortable.
I'm very disappointed.

Depends when you go as to what kind of treatment you get. They shut at 8pm allegedly but will start locking gates to skips at 7pm and have an attitude about their own opening hours. Maybe their employers need to explain to them why their listed opening hours are before they start receiving complaints about how the public who have had their bin collections reduced again are spoken to. Outside of this they haven’t been 100% gimps, but don’t do much other than tell you what number skip to use before you park.
