I’d like to make this clear from the start that this review only pertains to the Burgess Hill depot. I have found the staff at their central office to be helpful. This branch on the other hand, well I’d give them zero stars if I could.

I have used Biffa for 4-5 years in both Horsham and Sompting. In the last six months I have had to call up for 9 of the last 12 collections. Each time being promised it’s a one off and will be collected the next day. It never is though.

Eventually I had enough and cancelled their 12 month contract (which is actually 15 months once they spring the 90 day clause on you). I also paid extra to cancel it immediately because quite frankly an additional £70 to never deal with this depot again would be money well spent.

It’s been 4+ weeks now of trying to get them to collect their bin. Had at least three promised dates only for nobody to show up. Calling the customer services number gets you through to someone whom will try to contact the depot directly. Not once in 10+ complaints have they ever been able to get through to them.

Their bin now sits on my driveway, overflowing and an eyesore.

I hope they lose a lot of customers because of this depot. They are beyond useless.

After 14 years of using Biffa when we came to leave them we found it very difficult! Area manager had to be constantly chased to answer emails. Their contract agreement is ridiculous. You can only cancel on the month you signed to then have to give 3 months notice. Meaning the agreement isn't 12 months. It's more like 15 months or pay your way out. No consideration from Biffa when they missed collections due to staff shortages and our waste piled up but we still had to pay our way out as giving notice in October wasn't enough to leave by January. January being the anniversary of our agreement.
