I left slightly disappointed from our adult education session. For people who are interested in all aspects of recycling (and those who are not) the excessive bureaucracy and emphasis on health and safety was either tragic or comic. So much wasted time and effort was spent on that, instead of crafting an imaginative and future looking approach to how we all could do better. I expected and hoped the talk would look further than current contractual arrangements, to help us all lobby for improvements and ways of increasing the envelope of what can be recycled and how.
I left unsure whether this system will push forwards or hide behind a stultifying culture.
