Paid for a sofa to be collected on the 18th. Got a email informing me that they were unable to collect on the 18th and rebook me in for the day before (the 17th) 3:30 came and nobody had been so I phoned up cleansing department whom informed me that it was scheduled to be collected. 17:45 guess what, yep sofa is still on my driveway. I'm unable to call Cleansing Department as they close at 17:00. So now I've got to remove sofa from my driveway so I can get my car onto it as I can't leave car on the road because I live in a restricted parking zone and I'd get a parking fine. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO NOW, IM 87 YEARS YOUNG AND I CAN'T KEEP ON MOVING SOFA BACK AND FORTH UNTIL THEY DECIDE TO COLLECT IT WHICH THEY'VE ALREADY BEEN PAID FOR. BWDBC ARE A JOKE.

Had an exceptional reception, all staffs were very professional and helpful, I and my fiance had our notice, the lady that interviewed and took us through the process was so cheerful and welcoming. Traveled from Manchester for the appointment, I think it we made the best choice as to Blackburn 😊

The worst 'online' reporting system ever !! Makes you answer a load of questions only to then receive a response stating it has been passed to the wrong dept and I need to do it all again. Then, I get a response saying I need to contact the departments directly as they don't have an online chat facility in certain depts !!
They try to move forward with these IT systems but the people behind the screens always seem to take them 10 steps backwards !!! Nice to see the taxpayers money is spent on high wages for IT Managers but not the actual systems !

I can only thank the staff at the council especially the guys collecting the bins, the staff manning the phones, the highways dept and the cleansing dept ( dealing with fly tipping). You are doing a great job in extraordinary times very pleasantly. Thank you all and stay safe. Thank you so much.

Show me a more uncaring, disorganised, unprofessional council and i'll show you a liar. The council tax department avoid at all costs if you suffer from mental health problems. They cause stress and will make you ill. Messed my bill up on many occasions and was like moving heaven and earth to let them know my property was now occupied. Despite being occupied and having a chap confirm this from the council they didn't update their system twice and still wanted a premium rate for it being unoccupied. They want money and do not care about your financial circumstances. Personally they are the dregs of society.

Recently had to speak with hobbie, very difficult to get through to speak to him, but managed
To track him down after a few
calls to the town hall - he works on the gypsy sites, I had to complain about some stuff that had been going on. Hobbie was happy to listen and responded fast and sorted the problem. I wish all the council staff were as efficient. He has since followed up to make sure nothing else had gone on.

Why are the streets never cleaned?! (Dukes Brow Area/Corporation Park). Been advised a request must be made to the council? I have been cleaning my street for the past 2 years, but the council need to do their part, plants and weeds are growing out of the roads, rubbish is stacked up and litter is everywhere! It is devastating, most people don't seem to care but I do and I wont accept the zero council involvement. Certain areas in the town are immaculate and others remain a literal dust bin, a clear divide!
