A great place to visit for souvenir shopping and to find artisan's work. Shoppers can fill up their own bottles and bags with certain products such as popcorn.

June 2024: Well stocked community shop. Variety of foods and drinks available as well as local made gifts and keepsakes. Staff friendly and welcoming. Free WiFi available when inside. Great idea to offer some items by the weight/quantity (washing liquid, soaps, trail mix, nuts etc.). Lovely community feel. Cash and card accepted. Items reasonably priced given location. We also picked up and dropped off bike hire here (via Barra bike hire). Worth a visit to contribute to the local community if in the area!

This community shop in Castlebay on the Island of Barra, Outer Hebrides, Scotland, is a very good place to buy provisions and find tourist information.
The staff have very good local knowledge and are very helpful.
There is even a small cafe to relax and have a chat.

This community shop is a brilliant resource. Lovely selection of food and crafts plus the tourist service is amazing. Naomi saved us after a catastrophic tent failure, finding accommodation so that we could carry on with our holiday. We also made use of the laundry service, dropping off two bags of clothes that got soaked during the tent incident and picking them up clean, dry and folded the same afternoon - I wish I could get all my laundry done this way! The refillable section is a great addition and we topped up various toiletries rather than buy new bottles.

Friendly staff who offered good advice when we were needing alternative accommodation during a storm. Beautiful shop of organic and locally made goods.
They even had a few small tents which we were delighted to find as we needed a new one.
Highly encourage all to take time to visit.
