I own a commercial electrical company that does office fit outs in the square mile and West End. I had just stripped out a floor of large supply cables and given their size had them cut into 1ft lengths and stripped down to raw bright copper.

Called B&V for a per kilo price on stripped copper wire (bright) in September 2023. Was quoted £4 per kilo. Immediately called another company and was quoted £5.75 per kilo, which is far closer to the current market price.
Was a bit shocked at B&V's quote and personally won't bother contacting them again.
