Essential local amenity, and very disappointed to hear it is under consultation for closure. A false economy when it results in an increase in fly tipping in the adjacent Mendip Hills AONB.

It would be helpful if the website had been updated to say there was no pedestrian access. I did check and it tells me where the pedestrian gate is. Thanks for that. Having walked 1/2 mile fully laden with rigid plastic I was denied access. Not prepared to now drive back there to sit in the queues. Won’t help the footprint to drive to Highbridge or leave it for the bin men. The ‘traffic controller’ wasn’t able to explain why there was no pedestrian access or when it would be acceptable to walk to the recycle centre. A bit more information of how they are moving forward would be appreciated 👎

Probably the best recycling centre in Somerset. Friendly and very helpful staff, clean and tidy, I just love it. It might be small but it’s Way better than others I’ve tried in the county!

Great recycling centre with very helpful staff but due to the reduction in opening hours it’s now closed all day on Thursdays & Fridays, well worth remembering before you load your car up! It’s open late (7pm) on Mondays. Full opening hours are: Saturday 8am–4pm, Sunday 8am–1pm, Monday 8am–7pm, Tuesday 8am–4pm, Wednesday 8am–4pm, Thursday Closed, Friday Closed.

Shame we need a car to be able to recycle stuff. Walked there carrying a heavy load, thinking I was doing the right thing for the environment, was told to take it all home and come back with it in a car.
