Absolutely criminal. Have had 4 months of overpayment as refuse to act upon changing my rate from “holiday let” and to apply single person discount. This all despite 4 phone calls and repeat assurances. Disgraceful and typical of government inefficiency.

Are there any good councils in the UK? Jeremy hasn't found one yet. And he was so hopeful!

Close at 2pm Monday to Friday grossly unprofessional. No response to requests to collect recycling despite paying a ludicrous amount in council tax. Overall pathetic

Everytime I've had to deal with CDC either by phone or there website has been hassle free . Very user friendly website covering everything that I have enquired about. Also the recycling staff are always ontime and do an excellent job.

I visited Bourton-on-the-water yesterday which I understand is under the control of Cotswold District Council.

Bourton-on-the-water is one of the nicest most ornate villages I have visited in the UK, so in my mind I could imagine just how awesome this village must look at Christmas with all its Christmas lights, so I had to revisit.

However, all I noticed when walking down the high street (before dark) was a few basic "S shaped" lights on lamp posts and a Christmas tree in the centre of the river. Not much for such a popular village. Yes, the tree looks ok at night, but I think the Cotswold District Council could have done a bit more for Christmas to give the village a bit more WOW Factor. A few more lights and trees would have improved it a lot.

Middle of Cirencester at 1030 on a Sunday morning and a parking person is dobbing-in cars parked lawfully … the parking payment machine clearly says Mon-Sat … yet the person says he’s right and the machine is wrong! Thankfully he calls his manager who advises him to desist … I don’t blame the parking person … I blame the woeful management …..

The office staff are very good, but to say the local councillors are terrible is a definite understatement. They ignore it when you contact them. Rebecca Halifax will even block your emails if its anything she doesn't want to know about.
