Delicious and good value friday meals! Delicious salt! Very nice people. Couldn't fault it. Honestly the fish supper was better than many fish bar meals I've had, even from the east neuk.
Personally I prefer the apple crumble to the chocolate fudge cake. The crumble was really good. Lovely macaroni too. And very nice chips.

This company is unreliable. They have fraudulently kept my money and not sent me the goods. I will also file a complaint with Trading Standards. The owner Darren Peattie sent a reply saying he would send the product using tracking - I did not receive the salt and I never heard from him or his partner again.

Been great to watch this new local company go from a building without a roof to a thriving & successful local business. Clearly as with most start ups they have had their challenges to overcome but they are always communicating through their socials etc to keep everyone updated on progress. I really enjoy my cooking and love using sea salt flakes so to have a local business producing what is undoubtedly the best sea salt I’ve ever used is totally amazing and I wish them the best of luck.

I’ve tried many different salts over the years but the sea salt from East Neuk Salt Co is absolutely THE BEST. It’s taste is unique, I’ve been into their premises as they have an open door policy and nothing was too much trouble for them. Darren showed me around and explained the full process from bringing the water from the sea to putting the salt in the packaging. After trying their salt I will definitely be using it from now on.

The fantastic chilli salt has become a staple in our kitchen. Roast potatoes just wouldn’t be the same without it! Just replenished our stock while collecting a great dinner from ‘fiver Friday’. The fish and chips were delicious and the salted tablet cheesecake sublime. A hidden gem in the East Neuk.

Had the pleasure of meeting Darren and Mhairi a couple of weeks ago, and despite them preparing for their Friday fish & chips night, spent some time chatting about all things salt. We stocked up on regular salt, and also left with a packet of chilli salt which we hadn’t tried. Love it! Subtle chilli flavour and especially great with roast potatoes. Great to see them doing well.

If you’re in the East Neuk then St Monans needs to be on your agenda, given it’s beautiful small harbour, the unique zig-zag pier there, and the windmill and old salt pans to the east of the village, with fantastic views across the Firth of Forth. St Monans is also far less touristy than any other East Neuk coastal village, I’d say. And whilst you’re there, please make sure you pop into the East Neuk Salt Company to support a true local business. The owner, Darren, is resurrecting the ancient Fife salt industry and he’s very happy to talk you through how he’s doing it. You can buy his salt there too - the smoked stuff is excellent, and we only now use his salt for cooking (normal and the smoked). When I’m up from London I always buy more and more 🙂
