I know its a public service but as a local resident my council tax does fund this service and I've never met a polite worker there.
Turned up when I think a skip exchange may have taken place as it was leaving but clearly the staff have taken the opportunity to put there feet up with the gates left closed 15min after the full skip drove away and a queue had built up. I know its local authority and there isn't anywhere good service but surely you can do better.

This place has the most amazing views! So refreshing to have a tip so local down the road literally, not having to trek into Workington or book time slots like they do in big cities. Practical making most of space they have, just follow the one way flow. Able to park right by container you need. Steps to several. Friendly staff, often help offload cars. If disabled just ask for help. Drove straight in today. Sometimes have to wait while containers swapped and driven away, but you can't really moan at this, when so convenient on doorstep with such beautiful views.

What can you say about a household waste recycling centre? Well, this one probably has the best views in England. Where free roaming sheep's graze in the next field while we offload our waste to be recycled and environmentally disposed of. The road leading to the recycling centre is narrow but has passing points. Remember to slow down at the speed humps or risk bottoming out your vehicle. This place can get busy at times, which we don't mind as we spend the time admiring the scenic surroundings and fells from the comforts of your car.

I love a tip run, this is my favourite. Wonderful views, well managed great friendly staff. Please don't expect the guys to help you offload, they are not allowed to do that. So make sure you are capable or take some one with you.. Check the list of accepted waste first to save your journey as you may need to go to Maryport.

Just been here this morning. One member of staff was extremely rude when I asked a simple question. One of the household waste containers was closed and I simply asked where I could throw these then. He then shouted loudly that it's not that hard to read, and the signs were everywhere. He and his coworkers then laughed out load. I am shocked at this poor customer service. Very disappointing.

We are at the tip now, have been second in l7ne for over 20 minutes. Then they close the gates. While they unload another container. No one came and explained what was happening. Still here waiting. This site needs looked at

This is an excellent recycling centre that is managed with polite and helpful staff.
One word of Warning the centre's road has been renewed with two high speed bumps, travelling at more than the speed limit ( 5mph) may cause serious damage to your car suspension or your single axle trailer if towing one.

Great for everyone that loves a good queue. Expect at least half an hour, but up to 2 hours has been known at bank holidays. We were making good progress and then the skip wagon arrived and added another twenty minutes. Quality
