Unfortunately, I had the bad luck of inheriting a contract signed by a colleague with these guys. List of issues below:

When we signed up to the company Gaskells were advised of our opening times. An employee of ours use to come into the office early so Gaskells collected the bins outside of our opening times on their own accord. When the employee left the company and was no longer in the office earlier than our agreed opening times Gaskells continued to attempt to collect at the earlier time when we were not open. Obviously they couldn’t get in as the gate was closed! They continued to charge us for the collections they were unable to make. When I complained about this they advised me that this is what the driver is used to and there is nothing they can do about it.

They attempt collections on bank holidays and attempt to charge you for it without any notice.
They would collect our bins and not return them back to where they found them, blocking the driveaway to our neighbours – as you can imagine this did not go down well!

Bins that were returned would never have their brakes pressed down so on a windy day they would blow all over the car park and onto the public road.

Their contracts are extremely hard to get out of as you have to cancel by sending them a letterheaded, signed letter 3 months before the contract expiry date but no more than 6 months before. If you miss this window good luck! They also do not allow competitors to cancel the contract for you.

Their costs were also 50% higher than any of their competitors.

I would advise avoiding this company at all costs - almost a mafia style of doing business with no customer service!

Do not use this company, their reps will lie and say anything to get you to sign a contract, once you have signed, they will charge you whatever they want, they refuse to cancel your contract even when the term is finished, we are now having to take legal action against them. STAY AWAY FROM THEM

Gaskells can't handle the work load.. We had endless missed collections that we where still changed for and changed for bins we didn't have. Awful experience from a company that boasts they can cover Conwy and the surrounding area.
We have left to use a better, cheeper and more reliable company

Gaskells provided an absolutely brilliant service for our Village day in Bunbury. Their communication and customer service was outstanding throughout. They were prompt for the delivery and collection of the waste.

We've used Gaskells Waste for 5 years and have recommended them to several of our clients. Great service. Great price.
Collections always done, or you are made aware straight away if there is a change of date. The service is so slick we generally don't have to call/email the office - but when we do James and the rest of the office team are friendly and professional.

Cowboy outfit. Be warned. No communication! Charge you what they feel like. Big mistake signing up with these. Get a fortnightly lift with 2 bags of hair and am overcharged for excess weight every month. It will work out to be hundreds of pounds more a year over the agreed price the way its going.
