Just make up their minds when they want to close. Multiple times we've gone and they're either closing early to enjoy the good weather or just can't be bothered to stay open any longer. Visited today at 2:30pm in a queue of cars, and guess what? They closed early! Shocker. They were meant to close at half 4.

Just don't get your hopes up of them being open when you visit 🙂

Big shout for the staff over the festive season. Well organised system. Husband volunteered to take all the Christmas wrapping paper for the family - a boot full. Thank you Jason, who immediately on seeing hubbie walks with a stick, went over and helped him. Thank you all for making it a stress free couple of visits x

Unfortunately, I have to give it 1 star instead of negative stars.
Everytime I go to this horrific place, I am judged by the way I look. Today is the latest of the escapades. I am moving house on Friday, so in between work, when I can, I am trying to get rid of my unwanted items. Today, I took my old fridge down there. I pulled up and took the fridge out of the car and started walking towards the appropriate container, only to be beckoned and asked to produce id. I literally only left the house to go here, I have enough petrol, I didn't need anything, so I didn't bring my wallet. I told him i didn't have it. I asked why.. he said because I am getting rid of a fridge.. (weird.. I know). Again I asked why I need to produce ID to RECYCLE a fridge. He stated to prove that I pay council tax.. now.. this is what got my back up. What was he insinuating? That I'm homeless? That I'm from the travelling community? I have no idea. This has happened on multiple occasions at this place.

I was allowed to throw my other items, however, was prohibited from recycling my fridge. I don't know if this is just a power trip because they have nothing else better to do? The majority of the time their sat drinking tea and looking down their noses at people. You're glorified bin men, not the FBI.

The thing that frustrates me.. I drove to another recycling centre and got rid of the fridge.. now, I know in a few days time, that fridge will probably end up at this place as its the 'hub' of recycling in Stoke-on-Trent. So what was the point in being so pedantic?

My recycling bins were supposed to be collected today.. but they haven't been. What am I paying my council tax for. The roads are full of holes, you can't use your local recycling centre and my bins aren't collected? This council is an absolute joke.

This kind of behaviour is just encouraging fly-tipping when you're hindered from recycling your unwanted items.

Joke. Get a grip and stop being jobsworths.

On the gate it says 9am opening, on the website it says 11.30, perhaps someone could actually get it right instead of confusing people. Most unhelpful staff anywhere.
