Rude, arrogant staff who rule with a iron fist. Other Herts recycle centers are helpful and friendly, harpenden are not!! Why pay council tax and be told u can't bring too much of something, our fence broken we fixed it ourselves, was told 4 fence panels every 6 weeks, horrible rude staff telling me not advising then laughing at us. Horrible rude and they should have some manners being a bin man.

I prepared a car full of household waste, drove to the centre and was told it was closed because it was full. I then had to drive home, unload everything and find a place to store it until I can find a centre with capacity. Overall I wasted just over an hour and a half; a complete lack of respect for people's time.

Well run and clean centre. They staff seem to keep busy. The only down side is they are closed on Thursday and Friday which coincides with the days I feel the need to use the centre. Monday and Tuesday would be a lot better imo.

As a St. Albans resident, I usually don't use this centre, but due to the local refuse centre being closed, I drove over to use the Harpenden centre instead. I'm glad I did! Not only is it more spacious and better laid out, but the staff were upbeat and friendly. A special mention to Tony and the rest of his team who, although the centre was very busy, created a positive and very helpful atmosphere.

The most friendly staff I ever meet at places like this one. Helpfull, patient - if everywhere it was the same.... Five stars only, because can't give six:)
