An unbelievable Aladdins cave of every kind of thing, from antique earrings to church pews, and flintlock pistols to garden ornaments. Many old buildings used from the old airbase, which are interesting to look around on their own. Several have information boards related to the wartime history, but all seems to have every nook and cranny filled the objects of interest to browse around. There's a nice coffee shop cafe, and small garden centre too. If you enjoy browsing nick knacks and memorabilia, there's loads to keep you busy for several hours. Recommended if you are in the area.

We love Hemswell! Loads of great items across the centre. The staff are brilliant. The service is great. It's a great place for a browse, but it's even better for getting good quality items for your home or collection.

It felt like I was dreaming but this place is literally the greatest place on earth!! It took us 4 hours to just walk round 3 buildings and I believe there are 12 chocka full of strange and interesting items to geek out on if you are a big kid like me! I spent way too much money but I could have spent more.
We will be going back in a few months for sure.
It’s free parking and there are plenty of other facilities on site too which we didn’t try but the food from the various cafes smelt very good indeed.

I did not visit in person so cannot comment on the premises; however, I did spot a lovely Art Deco piece on their website, which looked too good to be true. I was really taken with the item but had a couple of questions regarding its condition, whether it was silver plated or solid silver and what they meant by the silver hallmark they referred too (I’m a bit of an antiques collector, low level but quality items). Within 1 hour of me submitted my query today, the item was then listed as “sold”. Perhaps I am a cynic but that seemed like a remarkable coincidence and I don’t believe in coincidences. What I would say is do your due diligence when buying anything labeled as “antique” and that costs a lot of money. My dad always told me not to buy anything unless I loved it because you might just be stuck with it if you get it wrong or you want to try and resell it at a later date.

Used to love coming to Hemswell but boy oh boy prices have sky-rocketed, shame. Iam sure someone will respond by stating economic pressures drive prices up but in hemswells case it very much seems that prices have more than trippled.

After 11yrs, I finally took a trip out to Hemswell. Forget the high Street, for gifts or household items, come hear. First you'll get a shock at the size of the place, being an ex RAF base. Then there's the range of items from furniture, to art deco posters, antique to modern items, & everything in between. Jewellery, silverware, pictures, persian carpets & rugs, with prices to suit every pocket.
I wish I had visited here years ago, but I will definitely be back.
There's plenty of parking, & I'm now enjoying a lovely coffee in the guard room cafe. Theres also a great restaurant in one of the other buildings.
You are going to have to place yourself, & a day might not be enough, my head is still spinning.
What more can I say, apart from the staff are mega friendly & helpful. Oh & it's all on-line as well
What a great afternoon, hopefully see you all again very soon
