Just had the most pleasant visit ever to a scrap metal merchant and met John the owner. The insides of the building has been brightly painted, so much more inviting than I’ve seen before. John is extremely chatty and offered me some gloves to help me unload my car. He helped also which was novel from the previous merchant I’d been to.
I don’t know why people don’t save their scrap metal as I was really pleased with the prices John has given me today for my scrap.

Not my normal yard but was passing through Hitchin and I will definitely be back next time in the area, minimal waiting time, competitive prices and the jolliest owner/manager that Ive met in a longtime, even though I didn’t have much to recycle still felt valued , worth a visit, love the vibe, awesome graffiti, deserves 6 stars in my opinion…

Couldn’t recommend Hitchin Metal Recycling more - such a lovely person running it. I stopped by enquiring about something, and John’s kindness blew me away. Definitely a business that deserves to succeed!
We saw the signs pop up around Hitchin, and thought it was the same business as the one which is responsible for crushing all the cars and all the fires, explosions and pollution, but it’s not, and couldn’t be more different! Such lovely people, great premises and lovely artwork too!

OK, I only had a few small scraps of copper but cannot believe how much money I got! Definately will return, friendly staff, no bit of scrap is too small. Free lollipop too. You won't regret visiting this place!!!
