This is the cleanest and best organised tip I've ever been to. Staff were all friendly although the joke about the pass being for the wrong day nearly made my insides fall out! Will tip again.

Staff are friendly and helpful. Place is spotless and is well organised. Never had any problems using it at all and I’ve used it a lot of times. Nearly forgot to mention the recycling shop there as well .Staff really friendly and prices are next to nothing all for a good cause

I visited Pallion waste tip to get rid of a tv stand and a small wooden storage box. I hadn't made an appointment because I didn't know you had to. I don't often go here. So I got to the big security man on the gate he said "have you made an appointment" I replied. No. The big man then said I had to leave immediately and make an appointment. So I drove past the tips. And about 3 cars were there. If the big man let me throw my rubbish it would have taken 78 seconds and that's it. So instead of making an appointment I drove to Seaham tip. Straight in No questions Asked in and out just like that. Why I came here in the first place I do not know. So moral of the story. Stuff pallion waste tip and goto Seaham. Pallion waste tip ? Seaham waste tip ?....

Nice and quiet, easy to get booked in. Staff were helpful and a special mention to Gareth who happily helped us unload two full vans of waste. He was amazing and made it all so much easier!

Utterly ridiculous. Sunderland seem at war with people trying to get rid of rubbish. First they constantly reduce the amount of stuff you can throw away. If your bin is even slightly ajar, the whole thing is not collected. Is it Christmas time and you have slightly more rubbish than usual? Too bad it's not being collected. Perhaps you've been on holiday and missed one of their fortnightly collections. Guess what.... your waiting another two weeks and they still won't take more than a bins worth. Then, while other tips allow you to turn up without restrictions Sunderland seem to be one of the few that demand that you fill out forms in advance. It's quite clear they simply want to throw as many road blocks up as possible to people getting rid of stuff. Is it any wonder the area has such problems with fly tipping ? They seriously need to review their policy ... If you want cleaner streets then makers it easier for people to dispose of their waste in a legal manner ... People will follow the path of least resistance... If you make it harder to get rid of things legally than illegally ... It's obvious what some people will do 🙁
