šŸ‘ Reviews of Kirriemuir Health Centre

Upon lengthy meeting with the ā€˜practice’ , which suppose to resolve issues arising from lack/fail of communication, I was persuaded to change the review that was ā€˜misleading and unfair’ as well as ā€˜being a material for a legal pursue’. Reviewed review: I have contacted the practice after not being informed about the advice given to the visiting parent , who I have no contact with due to domestic abuse, regarding my son. Multiple phone conversations took place following this, with the practice manager to establish why there was no communication from the practice with the person (me) who is the main (and only given upon registration) point of contact. I was told the practice is not obliged to do so. My son was send away to another practice with his visiting parent, without questions being asked, with his father staying drivable distance away and me being left out of communication loop. My son was due to come back home the same day - afternoon as per court order. As I was making my point I was then send off to the principal. Exchange of emails further frustrated the communication, I was getting more and more upset about being misunderstood, I was offered face to face that I have gladly attended, hoping for a constructive resolution to the situation that didn’t have to happen. After 1.45 of fruitless exchange of the same points over and over, I was told that my request cannot be facilitated, despite unusual personal circumstances being shared with the practice upon registration. Comments were made regarding my personal health (during non clinical, admin appointment) that has intimidated me even more. I will be leaving the practice with a sense of being failed, dismissed, ignored, not listened to and again being proven that to care is in no ones best interest. Absolutely gutted as I have found the practitioner who listened, but cannot get over lack of communication and dismissing wishes of a parent of school age child regarding his treatment/ advice given, or simply being informed, based upon ā€˜not being able to facilitate’ Ultimately my personal situation is not the practice fault but willingness to help and find a common ground did not ensure that all is done to support different family needs and care. ā€˜Agree to disagree’ is the only conclusion that I have to fighting my (as a single mother) corner. Frustrated with the system that is stripped of any personal touch, guarded with meaningless procedures that only serve a purpose of making sure that no one else is responsible but ā€˜you’. Hope this feedback is worded in an acceptable manner, true representation of course of events and my perception and explains my subjective experience without prejudice. Wishing all the best to all the Kirriemuir Team.

I moved from Glasgow to Kirriemuir 1 year ago and I’m very pleased with the surgery, staff and Doctors. In Glasgow you couldn’t get an appointment and if you did it was 2 minutes in and then shown the door. 5 stars 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟 for Kirriemuir. Excellent.

It might look like a Soviet blockhouse but Kirrie Health Centre delivers great care. They saw my little girl several times in a single week when she was unwell this winter, which was a lifeline during a stressful time.

The doctors are mostly fab with one or two exceptions. Reception staff and nurses are good too, always get a smile if I mind my Ps and Qs.

Would gain another star for an online booking system - it's really handy to be able to see slots and plan things in advance. Had it at my last place and miss it here.

Some Reception staff are fantastic others think they are qualified doctors if you are unlucky enough to get one like that then you’ll never get to see a doctor! Doctors are so so depending on which one you get. From personal experience I would say they are in need of retraining as they don’t seem to know symptoms for common problems and illnesses. Also out of touch with NICE guidelines. On a positive note the nurses are fantastic and do a great job!

Best Doctors surgery i have ever had!
The online booking service is great for someone like myself who works weird shifts. I have seen various Doctors at the surgery and feel they really take the time to listen to your issues and following up on them. Staff are always so helpful and nice.

As a visitor in kirriemuir I had an accident and needed a prescription. My own doctor in Dunfermline was very unhelpful.kirriemuir health centre was brilliant and did what my own doctors surgery could and should have done within an hour. Great service and staff.

This surgery has no duty of care to patients what so ever. My dad is in severe pain with his hip and told 2 years waiting list which is aload of rubbish. My dad keeps falling and can hardly walk.
Shocking service from this surgery.
My dad is in so much pain, falling and in tears with pain.
Absolutely sickening to watch my dad like this.

I would not say poor to fair. I would say extremly poor service. I went there today seeking medical advice as the right side of my face is swollen and very sore. Im not sure what is wrong but was made to gues by the reseptionist. I guesed in could be an abses. Wrong answer as they said they could not help me as it was dental and sent me in my way with a phone number of a dentist which I called and was told another number of a hospital which I called but again they could not see me. I need medcal help. I need antibiotics and no one can help. So much for doctors code of practice. my face is now twice the size it was this morning and Ive got all weekend to go before I can go back to this terible sergery.
