LCC's Burnley Household Waste Recycling Centre

A very tidy tip with clear signage. I'm over 60 and have a bad back, and staff have always been friendly and extremely helpful if I have something heavy. Because the skips are low, there is easy access to get things in. Have never encountered any of the issues others mention. It is great, as a resident, too, that you don't have to book to go, you can just turn up with your stuff. We'll done. Keep up the good work.

Went to the tip shop last week as my wife had broken her leg and wanted a wheelchair. Unfortunately they didn’t have a suitable one in but they took her number and did call when they got one. Also got a chair for in the shower, looked like new. Easy to park and very friendly, helpful staff.

Well organised with helpful staff. Visitors need to appreciate that staff are there to tell you where stuff goes; they're not employed to empty cars for people!

Just had my 84yr old nan on the phone almost in tears. She has been to the tip and asked for help putting some wood and bits into the right bins. She has rumatoid arthritis and cand hold anything hardly, and told me she was told by the woman (jade) she isn't thereto help only to guide her to the right bin and she also had a bad back so she couldn't help anyway. This is appalling from someone to refuse help to a disabled elderly person. I'm even considering going to the papers with this. This Jade needs a reality check on morals and manners. Disgusting isn't the word...

Big centre with lots of parking. Could do with clear signage indicating where the different 'skips' are for different waste.

All you want is for them to be open when it says they're open. That's not a big ask, is it? So when I headed here on a Monday at 12:00, the gates are closed "unexpectedly", according to a sign. Very annoying because I had a car full of rubbish and had to collect something sizeable after the tip.

Visited the site on a Sunday morning, there was only one other person using the Tip. I was turned away & told to come back 24hrs later on Monday at my appointment slot, even though the place was empty, Some bossy small red haired woman seemed to be in charge, The worst example of working "with" the community I have ever experienced from LCC. This lady needs to understand people and when common sense is needed. Got here monday & the staff on duty where amazing, My advice - visit on her day off.

I called to ask a question but the automated reply service didn't have an option I needed. I don't want to go with items that will not be accepted or items that I will not be assisted in placing appropriately as I have heard about from other 'users' of this place, (I'm 61, not tall enough to put things in the tall skips, I have back pain from a fall which resulted in a broken back several years ago, and osteoporosis).
