Truly shocking direct discrimination
So not to block and cause even more of a longer tailback i drove to a proper space then.
despite asking for help and stating lack of mobility and offered to show the proof. Told to unload car and walk way beyond my capabilities.
When i asked once again you expecting me to walk with the load that far i was dismissed and when i said so people with mobility issues cant use the tip properly i was ushered away then the man walked off.
In tears and struggling I made it to the skip but couldn’t lift to throw.
Thankfully another staff member stepped into help And asked why I didn’t ask for help. I said i did and was t even listened too properly. Showed by disabled badge as proof.
Told if i wanted to raise it do it at the gate on the way out.
I did apparently no provision for feedback in person, on the phone or by the website.
The DDA 2010 seems to be irrelevant RC4GM

Really helpful staff!! Our friends accidentally threw away some of our belongings. We came back to retrieve it with little to no hope that we’d get it back. Mark was extremely helpful and understanding while he dug around in the dumpster and somehow pulled out all of our things!!! We feel very lucky to have such assistance. Thank you to the whole team ❤️

What an utter joke. I had to drive from Orkney to my folks house in Gatley to help convert a work room into a bedroom for my elderly mother who has just got out of hospital, my dad's in his eighties and only has a small car. So the obvious thing to do was put the cupboards and wooden bits n bobs in my small campervan. To do this I simply removed the bed. On arrival I was told I'd need a permit. But because my vehicle is registered at my home in Orkney and not my elderly parents house in Greater Manchester they said I'd likely not get one anyway because I'm not a Greater Manchester council tax payer, my folks are though and I'm here helping them. So after some discussion I was directed over to the household waste section where a member of staff would decide if my vehicle was a campervan or not. Seems that it isn't. Even though it had a cupboard, toilet, is lined out and has Seitz motorhome windows along the sides. "No that's not a campervan. You couldn't stay in there". "Well not at the moment no because its full of bloody old kitchen units but when the beds in place of course I can and have been for the last ten days"
Little Mr vehicle inspector wasn't moving so I've had to drive back to my folks house and unload it all so I have somewhere to sleep tonight.
So thanks for nothing Sharston tip. You've helped make an already stressful time even worse.
