Emptying garage and took some stuff round. Used my camper van as a bit easier to load with seats down.
Young guy at front refused entry. ‘You don’t have a booking’. Whole place was really quiet. Explained booking system was likely to stop large vans inundating the site. However as is visible it a small campervan and the site is not busy. ‘You don’t understand - you don’t have a booking’.
‘Can I make a booking now’ - no slots available.
Made us drive past the other 2 helper guys standing around doing nothing.

Ah, Stirling Council Recycling Centre—where dreams (and occasionally small appliances) go to die. But only if you manage to conquer the mythical beast known as The Booking System.

First, you need a time slot. Fine. But you’d have an easier time securing Taylor Swift tickets during a solar eclipse. I’m not saying it’s bad, but I did consider just launching my rubbish into orbit instead. More efficient. Less stressful.

The site itself is fine once you’re in, but by then you’re so mentally drained from the booking saga you can barely remember why you came. I drove in with a broken cannon printer and left with existential despair.

In conclusion:

The actual people that work there are really helpful. The Council's system of booking Disregards people that only own a small van. You are blocked from taking your own rubbish that you only have to take because bins Only get emptied once a month. It's absurd and a Typical Stirling Council poorly thought out process, with absolutely Zero consideration to local residents. Stirling Council really don't give a you know what about local residents. Zero listening skills.

The new online booking system is restrictive and convoluted.
Having to answer multiple questions on different pages of a form and fill out all your address info just to recycle is frankly idiocy.
Getting a 10 minute slot in which to show up is even dafter.
Whoever came up with this needs re-assigning to a role in which they don't make decisions.

The web site and the google entry advertise closing time as 6.00pm Today time advsertised is 6.0pm. Our drive has emptied waste on numerous accasions over a 3 year period. today at 4.00 pm or even 3.55pm he was refused entry saying it was closed!
Most unudual and no previous adivce or notifciation.

What in ancient times was known as the council dump .....in the present day its a well organised clean recycling centre. I like the area where you can get free composted material for your garden. Final mention to the staff Ive encountered - always cheerful and helpful
