Unfortunately I don't have much, if anything, good to say regarding receiving support for a defective part. Went in today ideally looking for a partial refund or at the very least a direct replacement part for a coil spring that had broken after having covered approximately 1,200 miles.
The parts were purchased in full working order, about 3 months ago. The car had been off the road until 2 weeks ago as it was being completely rebuilt. With this in mind, I spoke to the guy at the desk and inquired about some form of guarantee for the parts, to which he stated, after a bit of back and forth, that he'd need to see the receipt. No problem. I went home and got the receipt and presented it to the same guy. He told me that I would need to pay for the replacement parts (albeit he could do it at a discount). I was a little confused at this so he almost patronizingly explained why, before eventually clarifying that parts are only covered for 2 months. He then continued by stating that they cannot honor replacements for longer than that as a business, which is, within reason, completely fair.
However, my problem lies within the fact that the parts had only covered 1200 miles before becoming defective. This is, in my opinion, the icing on the cake when, back in August when I initially bought the parts, I only wanted the struts to replace my original ones which had the threads stripped from the top mount. The guy working the desk at the time advised buying the complete front suspension - lower control arm, knuckle and strut, after concurring that the pinch bolt securing the strut to the knuckle can become seized and risks rounding the head or shearing it completely.
So with that additional context, it really does feel like a kick in the teeth when you buy complete front suspension, assured for having no issues, but finding out later down the road that the coil spring is useless and I ended up having to replace the strut anyway(!) with one that I had purchased prior to acquiring a complete front suspension setup, and both lower ball joints presented as an advisory on an MOT -- the MOT tester had also informed me they would need replacing very soon -- further adding to the cost (which I feel is a good time to mention that, at this point, it would've been cheaper to just replace my top mounts on my original suspension...)
In situations like these, it would be better if your policy guaranteed the parts for a certain number of miles, where age-related wear is almost non-existent or is an insignificant factor compared to wear during driving.
And perhaps avoid the attitude where customers aren't familiar with your parts guarantee policy.
I have given 2 stars because at the very least the parts weren't rusty or otherwise unusable. I also do acknowledge there will be some wear with used parts, it's the risk you take with them, hence why I have offered some leniency here.
Edit to address the reply:
I think my assessment is fair enough. Whilst, yes, I admit I made an honest mistake about when the parts were purchased (which was a very rough guess, I do not keep track of time well), the parts were not fitted until some few weeks after they were purchased. During the time they were off the car, they were stored in the boot. In this situation, them being a month out will not have contributed much if any to their degradation and eventual failure, and only goes to penalize those who are not in a position to fit the parts immediately. We're also talking a month here, not a year or two, and their lack of use will be corroborated by my car's MOT history which shows it was off the road until 2 weeks ago.
Additionally, I had no interest in purchasing another set of coils as I already had some that I purchased from another scrap yard prior to visiting yourselves who then sold me complete front suspension, making the prior purchase redundant until now. I have no expectation for you to perpetually extend the warranty, but from my perspective this entire experience absolutely feels like a kick in the teeth.

I was recommended to use this firm by colleagues and neighbours. Sadly, I was let down. I phoned when I was at a friend's, was offered a certain amount for my vehicle, which I accepted. Collection date constantly postponed. I had been told that I would receive payment the following day. I had to chase this and eventually received it, but not the full amount. I phoned and was told that prices vary, circumstances etc, but I would be called back. This never happened. Whilst it was only a small amount, I m a pensioner so every pound counts. Total loss of trust in this business
Sadly, I've sent reminder emails which have been ignored. A minute figure for a business, but not a pensioner

A really good experience using Lowmoor. Via Ebay, I got their contact details and phoned them directly. I knew they had one part I required, but I also needed a tail gate door that I also needed. I sent a pic via their WhatsApp to clarify that the colours matched my car, and after a bit of jiggery pokey, they managed to save the second pallet costing for delivery. (Putting both parts on one pallet, saving approx £90.) Within a calendar week, the parts were delivered to my address . Bravo ?

Decided to scrap my car as not worth repairing. Phoned for a quote, and they collected from the garage 2 days after I accepted. Money in bank account 24 hours later. Very straightforward process. Would recommend.
