I was gifted a full day blacksmithing lesson at Morton Forge by my family. It has always been something I have wanted to try and it was brilliant fun. Gregg, the owner was great fun and very patient while he showed us the basics. He then let us craft something for ourselves to take away. If you're thinking of having a go I would highly recommend it.

I had a blacksmithing day with Greg at Moreton Forge and it was amazing. I can happily say that it the best fun yet challenging experiences I've had in my life.

I had no prior experience and got to make multiple items and learn a variety of techniques. I really got a feel that there is a balance between strength, finesse and problem solving that makes this a unique skill.

His teaching style was a lovely combination of observe and then have a go. This set the stage for ongoing feedback from Greg as I produced and honed my items.

Ultimately, the man is a font of knowledge and kind. It was a fun day set in a traditional forge in a wonderful part of the world.

My husband and I spent a day learning to forge. We both had fun and learned a lot. Greg was engaging and full of knowledge. We left with multiple projects that we will be sure to use in the future. Granted, my dog looks definitely sad and disapproving but the bottle opener works well! Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to spend a day doing something different and enjoyable.

What an experience! A day in the company of a very experienced blacksmith in a Workshop that’s been a forge for well over a 100 years. Would recommend to anyone that like to get hands on.
