I moved to this surgery years ago from Haydock Medical centre as that in my eyes is the worsat doctors ive ever been with ... Dr Rahill was amazing, always got an appointment without too much trouble i was so happy i moved. Now, however this is as bad if not worse than haydock medical you CANNOT get in to see a doctor and when on the off chance you do, its some random ive not seem the same doctor since Rahill left and now they send you over to Haydock again the suregery i once left - Ive now moved to a surgery in town such a shame this once amazing surgery is now down the pan

The receptionist is unprofessional and rude. No smile, and she just stared at me, waiting for me to speak first, with a stern look.
Normally, people visit the drs already low mood due to illness. This receptionist makes you feel even worse.

The worst surgery I have ever been to, the receptionist is absolutely useless and uneducated!

Jill was the only one who looked after us and she deserves to be at a better place!

They messed up my baby’s registration at the surgery delayed all her immunisations and when we went in during the time she had symptoms of chicken pox they made us wait up to an hour in the car for a doctor to come see us!!!!

Arrived at the surgery at 3:50 pm for a 4 pm appointment today. Waited until 4:45 pm, and still wasn't called in to see the Dr. Had to leave without being seen as I had to be somewhere else at 5 pm. Receptionist was very apologetic, but the patient service is shockingly bad.

This surgery is absolutely amazing. I’ve been with them for around 8 years now and have been looked after extremely well. Special thanks to Gillian the practice nurse who looked after me today with the removal of my stitches after major spinal surgery. Keep up the great work, thank you 🙏

I have been a patient at Old Whint Surgery for some twenty plus years now. I am writing this review to recognise the excellent support and care I have received since becoming seriously unwell some years ago.
I have been nursed back to health after having major surgery by Dr Rahil himself and other Drs that practice in Old Whint Surgery. The complete nursing experience has been second to none, the Practice nurse has supported me through both physical and mentally difficult times of my life due to a rare illness I have experienced. She has always displayed a caring and listening manner and involved me in creating a care package to meet my individual needs.
I would like to recognise that I have been treated with dignity by all disciplines of the nursing team from Reception staff, Practice Nurse, Dr Rahil and Consultant Pharmacist throughout my illness journey. Reflecting on my treatment it is pleasant to feel “valued” and this has been practiced abundantly in Old Whint Surgery.
I can honestly say that with their collective and collaborative approach while treating me as an individual, I have reached my optimum functioning with my health.
Due to the rarity of my illness a lot of thought has been put into creating an individualised care package while taking into account my own thoughts and feelings. The complete team in the surgery have made me feel valued and listened to, allowing us to work collaboratively to create a care package to meet my complex needs. The surgery has involved their Consultant Pharmacist to give if advice in my treatment, as it is rare so a lot of thought goes into what medication that will treat and improve my illness and allow me to function to my optimum.

I know this review is somewhat “long winded” but so is the years of great treatment I have received from team at Old Whint Surgery. Thank you all so much and just wanted to recognise in this review the importance your caring and professional approach has made to improving a patients life.

Kind Regards,
Greg Meredith.

I’ve not had much experience with the doctors since joining the practice but I must say the nurses are exceptional, they have made me feel so comfortable during my appointments

This used to be the best surgery in the area,, unfortunately it’s gone downhill fast. Amongst other things the staff prefer to shout from the other side of the reception/office rather than approach you at the window Such a shame as Dr Rahil had a professional and friendly surgery. Different staff different attitude.. I’ve left already.
