Waste Disposal Meets Premier League Efficiency

Oh, Sevenoaks Recycling Centre – where Kent’s rubbish meets its destiny and you meet the thrill of a well-organised purge of unwanted items. But don’t think you can just waltz in unannounced with a boot full of broken lawn chairs and old toasters. Oh no, my friend – this is a bookings-only establishment. That’s right, you’ve got to plan your waste disposal like it’s a Friday night reservation at a Michelin-starred restaurant.

The online booking system is a marvel of modern technology. You’ll feel like James Bond, securing a highly classified slot for that collection of ancient paint tins you’ve been too scared to deal with. Choose your time, click “confirm,” and bask in the knowledge that you’ve just become part of the organised elite of rubbish tip enthusiasts.

When you arrive, your booking is like a golden ticket. The staff will check your details with the kind of precision that makes you feel like you’re entering the Pentagon – but with more skips. It’s VIP treatment for you and your garden clippings. No booking? No entry. You’ll be turned away faster than someone trying to sneak into the Glastonbury Pyramid Stage with a fake wristband.

Once inside, it’s a world of order and precision. Cardboard? Over there. Rubble? That way. You’ll experience the pure joy of categorising your rubbish while avoiding eye contact with the person next to you dumping a truly questionable sofa. And the staff? Heroes. They’re there to help you navigate the labyrinth of skips with the calmness of saints, even if you accidentally booked the wrong time slot (we’ve all been there).

The online booking system may seem like a faff at first, but trust me, it adds a layer of exclusivity to the whole experience. After all, who doesn’t want to feel like they’ve scored tickets to the hottest waste disposal event in town?

So, grab your old lampshades, book your slot, and prepare for a recycling adventure like no other. Five stars – an unforgettable day out where you’ll leave lighter, greener, and strangely proud of yourself.

Felt compelled to write a review after such a kind employee named Peter came to my immediate rescue today ,armed with antiseptic wipes and plasters when I was unloading my boot with garden twigs /bushes and pricked myself on a rose thorn .So very kind indeed .The chap in the vehicle next to mine offered to help unload the rest of my garden sacks ! Forgot to ask his name but thank you very much should you ever see this review .Tidy and well kept refuse centre ,all orderly and very pleasant staff .Thank you .

The staff were good and helpful. Pity about the form issued to get a time slot . Why does it have to be so detailed !

What is known colloquially as the Dumrik Dump, and now called the Sevenoaks Household Waste Recycling Centre, is open to residents wanting to dispose of their bulky waste, paper and cardboard, wood, scrap metal and garden waste.
Since Covid it is necessary to go on-line and book a time slot and car reg. to visit the dump. This has the advantage of missing ling queues.
For commercial operators it is necessary to pay a fee, which perhaps explains the amount of fly-tipping by the smaller, and unscrupulous, operators.
The staff were all helpful and properly attired in the correct PPE.
A not unpleasant experience.

The staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful. The site is well run and works like clockwork. Yes, you do have to book, which personally I don't mind as it ensures the site never gets overfull.

Very quick and straightforward to book a slot on line which ensures that you can usually drive straight in without any queueing; the only exception seems to be around lunchtime when there can be a wait. The men are very helpful guiding you to the correct place to recycle your items and often offer to help carry them to the skips.

Good to have booked half hour slots, but it does cause issues when the tip is closed for 15 minutes while some vehicle was working. It ebed up being very busy. But a good service to have.
