Visited here this afternoon after speaking to a chap on the phone about a part for our car. He was ever so helpful and explained everything to me. All the questions I had....not a problem...he just answered them. When we arrived we were directed to the correct area where we quickly found the part we needed. Everything was easily accessible and the workers were on hand to assist with any questions. Payment was easy and we will definitely return should we need more parts. Thanks for all the help you provided to us today.

It's the only scrapyard around where you can still remove parts yourself, and this aspect should be preserved and encouraged. Re-use is always better than recycle!
And if you have an end-of-life vehicle, I find they're better value than, say, WBAC.

I like to come back here because there is a lot of choice and I always find something for my private cars and for friends cars.
But recently I took the Engine Rubber Weather Seal Strip and went to the checkout. The seller told me the price was £40 for the rubber which I had to find and remove myself. I don't like it when I come in jeans And branded clothes, I have to pay x5 more..

I've been here 2 times since the last comment. Once I bought a Cabin air cover (Plastic) and Stake under the seat paid £13 - good.
Today Needed - Hazard Warning Triangle Bracket Holder And from the air vent of the slat Paid 10£ – Poor Too much for a piece of plastic most likely depends on who stands in front of the checkout. In my opinion it was worth £5 Max because I had to get it out of the scrap metal myself. But let it be, fortunately, I rarely smash my car in my nerves to come back here ?

One of the best scrap yard dealers I have ever used staff are friendly, and they are helpful too. The range of selection is fantastic, and stock is rotated every couple weeks, so always have vehicles there. Pricing is average. Some parts could be a little cheaper, but buggers can't be choosers. All in all, it's worth having a look here first before buying brand new, etc.

Silverlake have now stopped replying to me despite what their comment reply might say. So i guess i'll just refurbish the wheel myself then.

Usually, I would rate this garage VERY highly as their tyres are really reasonably priced, well fitted and their upickit yard is also pretty good.

But this last visit really changed my mind.

I ordered 6 tyres off their website (3 for one vehicle, 3 for another), when I arrived to have them fitted they told me those tyres had already been sold to someone else. Something about a system glitch not removing them from their website was to blame. To their credit they did try to sort me put a replacement pair on the spot but they only had tyres dated 2003. So I politely declined and was refunded. However, the fact they hadn't bothered to contact me regarding it beforehand has annoyed me as I drove from quite a long way away and had I not had other tyres and parts from the upickit yard I needed it would've been a waste of time.

The fitter for 2 of my wheels did it perfectly, but the final wheel he has damaged the alloy quite abit on the edge.

I was also overcharged in the upickityard. Their pricing online is a blatant lie as I was charged £91 for £75's worth of parts.

Overall, not very impressed. I currently have a complaint on-going for all of the above and if we reach a satisfactory conclusion my review shall change. But for now I have to leave a 1 star. Unfortunate, as this place is usually top notch.

Absolute poor service! Went down silverlake to get 2 tyres got there just after 5 and was told they couldnt fit them at that time even though they close at 6! After driving there for 40 minutes we drove back home. Couple days after that we went back down they put the tyres on! I needed this done for my MOT! Went in for MOT and it FAILED! I was in complete shock to find out they put the wrong sized tyre on! I had to go back and do the 40 minute drive down that day so I could get the car back in to the MOT, when i got down there they changed it to the right one! They changed it very quick! Couple days later the same tyre they couldn't get right suddenly went flat!! You can tell the tyre had the wear before we got it They have refused to take any responsibility for it, if I'm buying a tyre i except it to last longer than 2 days! I spoke to 2 people in there, one that said the crack in the wheel wouldn't of made it go down, then the other guy said I must of drove over something (he didn't even see the tyre), in other words they didn't have a clue! I went down 4 times for 2 tyres! We picked up the flat tyre and left. The tyre they put on was obviously a damaged one! I had now wasted petrol money, money from tyre and in total it's taken me 4 hours there and back! My son's dad took a day off work for the MOT which should of been a one day situation instead it's been a weeks worth of hell! If they put the right size tyre on in the first place I'm sure we wouldn't be in this situation! Now I'm sat here with no tyre and alot of money down which I don't have! Also some of them workers need to sort their attitude out, not once did we kick off about the situation we were always polite in there but yet felt like a bit of shit on their shoe. I won't be using this place again and I will be also telling others to avoid.

Brilliant pick your own scrapyard. Unfortunately didn’t have what I needed but it’s a very tidy place with friendly staff.

They should have a sghn to say no tyres done after 3.30 on saturdays waited 30 mins for someone to come to desk just to be told this then they put weights on wrong went to go home wheel making horrible noise tried to say it was doing when i came in disagreed with them so they checked and it was they're doing always check usualy they are good
