Tip closes at 4pm, arrived at 3:50 told i can't go in because a sign says they 'may' close 10 mins early. Essentialy told to F off just so they can clock off 10 minutes early.

Staff (bar the odd one or two) are unhelpful, uncooperative and barely speak to you. The system makes little sense and the public are left to work out where they are supposed to put their items.

Just been down to the tip to take 5 bags of garden waste. They were heavy and I'm not very tall (5ft), 8 and half stone in weight, and not very strong. Also getting on abit in years. Sat at the green waste was a strapping lad in his 20's who offered me no help whatsoever. He watched me struggle lifting the bags up, and struggle to empty them!
This is why I shy away from going there because every time I've been on my own, I never get any help. If I go with my friend who's a 6 foot strapping bloke, they help us! 😤 Some logic!

Once you're used to the layout the place is really easy to use. The staff are all pretty helpful too. Best of all, they allow my pickup truck in there; none of this commercial waste nonsense like I used to get with Kent County Council!

The lads that work there were really helpful & friendly, as I'm disabled they unloaded my waste for me. Unfortunately there is an older man that works there that was verbally abusive & shouted across the site at the other lads that worked there at the top of his voice so everyone could hear & also pointing at my car while doing so not to help me because it's not there job to unload my car. This is after I called the main office & asked that with me being disabled would they unload my car for me, the person I spoke to at the office said yes. Everytime I tried to explain to him I'd called the office he just spoke over me. Obviously everyone was looking at me because of the scene he was making, I felt so embarrassed & humiliated. The other lads that worked there were lovely though! I called the office again & complained about him, the chap I spoke to on the phone was really nice & apologized for the man's behavior, he rang the site & when I went back another guy apologized to me but the man that was verbally abusive stayed in the little office, he wouldn't come & apologise!

Well laid out facility everything goes into skips so there is no mess lying around. You need to book a slot to use it but there is no hold up on arrival you need to wear a mask within the site and only 2 people allowed at the moment. Very useful for getting rid of the odd bits when having a clear out.

Update
You no longer need to book or wear a mask, the service is still excellent and the staff very helpful.
Just turn up and deposit your waste, note it is closed on Wednesday and Thursday.
