You have perhaps seen an Army advert on the TV where soldiers have been taught to remove their mirror-effect sunglasses when talking to the locals. I had not previously experienced this, but asking for assistance from one of the staff, who was wearing mirror/opaque sunglasses, is not a nice experience. There is less human contact, and it can come across as unfriendly. This is a useful thing to know.

There may be different staff on different days. This was a Friday.

We took some household bins to the centre and we were made to feel like scum. The young staff just grunted when we asked where to put things.
They then went on to rip bags open to find it was household waste.
Made to feel so unwelcome. Never again

I now see why fly tipping is so common. I used this tip for the first time today, 14/7/24, after clearing out my garage. I had a trailer load which I realise now was a bit large for the size of the place, however the men working were blunt, rude, and were more interested in accusing me of disposing "business waste" than helping me find what goes where. I understand my trailer wasn't suitable for the the size of the recycling centre, which I didn't know, having never been there previously, but that's no excuse for the staff to be so unhelpful, infact one of them took some of my rubbish and punched it into the bins in a fit of rage! Very disappointing, what motivation do I now have to put the effort into disposing of items correctly?!

So disappointed today 15th April. Have used the tip many times before and normally have friendly helpful staff. Today I was made to feel like a pest, the man working did not want to help was very rude and aggressive. I asked if I could leave some boxes for the charity shop and his reply was to leave it and he will look through it which I did and continued to empty the rest of my van. He had already mentioned they could not take electrics as they were full which was fine but I did not expect to find items being thrown back at me across the carpark as he didn’t like it and continued to throw all the donated items in the bin. Extremely bad service and people wonder why fly tipping happens.

I am really pleased to see that Snetterton has got two friendly and extremely helpful operatives there now. I went there to dispose of a cooker and fridge freezer. I off loaded the cooker and headed for the container, by the time I had dropped it off and come out, the two lads had the freezer unloaded and were heading to the container. Super service. Hope they are a permanent feature of this site. Happy new year lads.

Very reluctant men to help an old woman lift heavy items into dumpster. I can't reach. I have to ask them for help. They look at me as if I had two heads. Charming! The boss told me they don't have to help as its not part of their job. Wow. 😮

The two regular guys manning this site are really helpful. I visited many times during a recent house move and unfortunately heard them receiving abuse on a few occasions - mostly around chargeable items. They are just doing their jobs and don't make the rules themselves! The site is clean and tidy and well run.
