I wanted to express my gratitude and thanks to the Surgery staff for their care last week. On Thursday, my Daughter was stung by a wasp, 3 times on the tongue and mouth. Within a very short period, just a few minutes, her tongue began to swell alarmingly.
I decided to call 999, but was told that the situation did not warrant an ambulance. I drove Katie to the Health Centre, where she was immediately seen by Dr.Townsley, Nurses Sharon and Jemma and Nurse Practitioner Robert. Dr. Townsley promptly administered medication to reduce the swelling, whilst all staff gently and calmly reassured Katie (and myself!) that all was under control. Having done all that he could, Dr. Townsley called for an ambulance. Fortunately, the swelling soon subsided, so, after a couple of hours of observation, Katie was allowed home.
