My 4 year old was really nervous about coming in for his first ever eye test but he had a fantastic time and said that Specsavers Newton Abbot was his new favourite shop. He really enjoyed all the tests and everyone was very friendly.

Excellent customer service and care, but one of the female staff wore the most overpoweringly strong perfume that I felt sick both times I went in there. I am autistic, and other people such as myself with sensory issues may struggle in the shop when it smells that strong. Please advise staff of this in training. Thank you.

As a first time glasses wearer at 33 I was dreading having my eyes tested and the thought of wearing glasses but new the time had come as let my eyes get to a stage where I couldn’t read things at a distance very well at all. Specsavers Newton abbot made the hole experience great from start to finish very friendly and welcoming and the aftercare is great to as I have been having trouble with reflections in my new glasses probably just getting used to it but I have been back twice to talk to them and they have shaped the glasses so they are better it’s still there but they have told me to come back anytime for advice help etc can’t fault the service and professionalism I have received so far . All round a very good experience

few years since last appointment. felt a lot better this time round. all helpful, and the help i got in choosing glasses, never had that before the young lady checked sizes and said what looks better and what wouldnt go. spot on

Over promise and under deliver. That's my recent experience of this branch. I ended up requesting a refund which they processed without any quibbles. They didn't even offer a resolution or an apology. Unfortunately the staff although welcoming don't really understand anything about the types of glasses that suits your prescription. Go elsewhere where they do......as I found out that the glasses I'd chosen were not fit for purpose for my prescription needs. This review doesn't reflect the excellent service from the optician.

Shambolic! Booked in for any eye test. Given an examination by a very young trainee ( I had been assured the trainee would be supervised. This did not happen).
At the end of examination I was given confusing, conflicting and muddled spectacle recommendations. When questioning this advice and seeking clarification, a fully qualified optician intervened. Unfortunately, this member of staff came across as slightly patronising.
Never again will I use Specsavers. In future I will use independent opticians.

Well no consistency in approach, what you get depends on who you were served with. I received 3 different prices for tge same pair of glasses. Once complaint they requested the highest value which was £55 above initial agreement.
I do not recommend them and also never go back there.
I had to see to different person to figure our right prescription for me. Wasted my time a lot in the process.
