Very friendly and helpful staff. Only downside is no bin for hard plastics: all has to go in with general non-recyclable materials for "energy recovery", whatever that means. (Presumably, they burn it all and use the heat for something )

I've lived around Stokesley for many years and used this recycling centre frequently. Always well organised, well run and friendly staff. They've often helped me unload stuff. You can recycle just about anything here..bikes, household appliances, batteries, clothes, engine oil, electronic devices, glass, as well as all the usual stuff like general waste, garden waste and metal. You are charged to dispose of rubble. Open times are generous, but need to remember it closes at 4 pm during the winter months and is closed on Wednesdays.
