The Antique Oak Flooring Company

Graham Ward

First rate product and service We bought reclaimed Edwardian pine floorboards for the renovation of our house from The Antique Oak Flooring Company and are very pleased with the result. The purchasing experience was extremely smooth and Bob went out of his way to help. If they have what you need for your project, don't hesitate.

I decided to “shop local” and had heard good things about the company. Initially contacted Bob by telephone who said he was travelling and to send it in an email. Two days pass and nothing back so decide to ring, get told he’ll look at it on Monday. Monday passes and nothing. I send a chaser on Tuesday and I get this rude email back: “ Martin, I have not found any that I think are similar.....you may want to drop down by arrangement have have a look yourself....Bob” Firstly my name is Matt, but that’s neither here nor there, but anyway I decide to phone to have a chat and clarify this message and quite honestly it was obvious to me that he didn’t want the work because of the size of the job. Belittling Comments like: “I haven’t got the time”, “im not going to root through the warehouse for what is only 2.5m2” or “£30 profit”. I understand that it was a small job, but just say from the outset that you are sorry and you only like dealing with bigger customers instead of being rude to me. It’s put my project back a week now and unlikely to get something sorted before XMAS where I had taken time off to sand the floor.

After trying to source some strip flooring I came across The Antique Flooring Company, after contacting them they could not do more to help. Sourcing the right wood, emailing photos and cutting to my spec, they even couriered the wood before I had even payed. Great company, very helpful and highly recommended for all your wood / flooring needs.
